It's -21F with a -46F windchill outside, but I'm cozy inside with a St. Bernardus 12 paired with french toast spiced with cardamom, coriander and orange zest ala a witbier. Life is good when you don't have to leave the house.

Hey, man...I have had this and liked it quite a bit, FWIW. Just don't expect a hop-whalloping experience. In my opinion, it has a ton of flavor without applying the sledgehammer. It would hold up well with food and would satisfy a mixed crowd, but hardly a session beer at almost 7% ABV. Found it sweet and clean, the hops are present and still reasonably assertive, but more understated than the in your face IPA's/DIPA's. More earthy/grassy notes, but the JA characteristic grapefruit notes are still present along with a little pine woods - so more malty with the hops well-balanced over the top. I guess if I had to pick one word it would be an "elegant" beer.

But that's my opinion and you know what that gets us

People here hate on MagicHat for some reason, but this is a damn fine stout.

I GoTit! And just before it started to snow again. It's the one in the middle. How do you open that thing? Anyway I am sure I will figure it out. It's chilling as we speak and I am drinking Hop Devil just like @theandychrist except his photo is better than mine. I will take another one with my second beer. =) Happy Monday! [IMG]

You kids... I could say it is like an old-school bail-top Mason jar and ya'll would look at me like I have three heads :grinning: Brrr...bad memories of thousands of quarts of home-canned tomatoes...home brewing is MUCH more fun!
