Lose less than a second of sunlight today, but loving the fact we will slowly but surely work toward brighter days in Chicago starting tomorrow. This brewery brews many sweet beers. I hopped the WC "Style" Double IPA might make this one an exception.

Full take in the New Beer Weekend thread. WBAYDN take, this is not Canada Dry. It's too sweet, definitely too sweet to be called a WC "Style", even with flexibility for a "modern" take. Decent morning beer in lieu of orange / pineapple juice, which is what this most resembles. WCIPA? I don't think so.

 

I have plenty to do in a bit, but one more glass of juice first.

 

Figured I’d get another post in while the thread is still about beer. Drinking Fidens The Butcher. I predict my next post will include some snow removal equipment

This is a pretty good Porter but I don't get the English Style Porter designation. Shrugs. Roasty, slight coffee, chocolate, body is on the thin side. Well...4.7%abv.

Opening presents early and trying to make this one last. Such a perfect blend of bourbon and wine barrel and spices of which any one is hard to single out.
