ROS tonight: started with a Half Acre Big Hugs. Can't find a date based on the label; i know it's at least a dozen years old, getting it in a trade or in person trade at DLD. Held up well. Followed that with a 2010 Founders Nemesis. That held up well, too. Cheers y'all.

    Good morning,
yesterday before dinner I had one of my favorite wild beers from an Italian brewery, although I'm sure I drank the same beer in better conditions, perhaps slightly older.

Ca' del Brado (Bologna, ITA) - CUVÉE DE PESGA – Peach Sour Ale (7,8%).

A few words about Ca' del Brado: they define themselves not as a brewery but as a "Cantina Brassicola" (brewing cellar) because they deal more with the fermentation and refinement of malt musts, through maturation in wooden vats with different characteristics, than with the production of beer in the strict sense.
They take care of the phases of the transformation of the product from must to beer by studying the recipes and dedicated fermentations (propagation and inoculation of classic yeasts and the encouragement of wild yeasts) in addition to refinements and maturations in barrels of different types.
The must is made on request and with their own recipe, thus making their production site a laboratory similar to a wine cellar, hence the definition of "Cantina Brassicola" (brewing cellar).
This is a spontaneously fermented beer produced through the maceration of freshly picked yellow-fleshed peaches (nectarines), in a blend obtained by selecting some specific barrels previously refined with Brettanomyces Bruxellensis, in addition to yeasts and bacteria present in their brewing cellar.
Here is my review already added to the database in the past:

    https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/51984/329487/?ba=Jack_14#lists

In this specific case, it seemed to me that the peach pulp (and the relative sugariness) was still too vivid and fresh, with the Bretta and woody notes left rather in the background compared to other versions that probably refined for longer in the bottle.
It loses a bit of refinement and elegance, but the fruit used is vivid and explosive in the mouth.
However excellent, especially for those who appreciate the sweet/sour taste of nectarines.

Good day BAs! Thanks @Shanex for opening the bar! And @Jack_14, excellent report - I obviously missed the entire Italian beer culture when there a few years ago!

    Today's New Breakfast Beer:

Froth Brewing up in Buffalo, NY, is producing some decent hazy/DDH/NEIPAs - I'll probably routinely start seeking them - they also have a massive line of fruited sours which I'll pass on.

Final impression and summation: 4 (After deducting 0.25 point for an undated personal container) Very pleasing DDH hazy (NE) IPA – not too bitter and decently citrusy/tropical fruity. I would definitely drink this again.
    Rating 4.02, rDev -2.2%

Froth doesn’t brew too many BA stouts, but when they do, they’re usually something to add to a wants list. They have a new experimental draft / crowler series (“Twisted”) that is very good, if you ever have inclination or opportunity to try them. Cheers!

Good morning, BAs! Early start for me today, as the nation respects the legacy of President Carter with a federal holiday.

One failed nap attempt later, and I think I'll sit down with a slow sipping beer and some computer games for the afternoon.

Naps are definitely beneficial, but a failed attempt always sucks.
