1) Drekker Metaphase (8.2% canned 11/18/24): A NEIPA from North Dakota with Citra & Nelson Sauvin for flavors of lemon and orange citrus, green citrus and juicy pine.
versus
2) Drekker Synaptic Cleft (8.6% canned 12/9/24): A NEIPA from North Dakota with Motueka, Moutere, Citra, Belma for flavors of green fruit and tropical white peach, grape, and strawberry. (Correctly matched the two blind)

Happy Wild-Card Weekend BeerAdvocates! Starting the games off with a banger Drekker IPA Battle. First is Metaphase, the best one I've had. Citra and Nelson
Next is Synaptic Cleft. Nice Motueka and Belma. Green guava, melon, and strawberry. Unique and complex flavor here. Another one of Drekker's greats.
I'd rank Metaphase as the #1 IPA have had from Drekker with the combo of Citra and Nelson. It takes a month for the phenolic notes to settle but now at that 2 month mark, it is drinking perfect.
Winner: Drekker Metaphase

Onto round two and down to the last couple of 2024 edition of Bigfoot. I always am amazed at how good this brew is and how available it is. I used to age it but now that i have access to the Mills River gift shop (their cellared releases usually done in tastings with friends), i will enjoy a sixer over a year's time. Still listening to Sirius. Cheering for the Texans against the KC Machine but unless Mahomes gets hurt they are unstoppable. Hoping for a Lions-KC Super Bowl!
