Welcome one and all to the Sunday edition of WBAYDN! Hope everyone has had a great weekend to date, and close things out with a banger or two before the new week begins.

Speaking of which, I have this excellent offering to cap off my weekend, like yesterday from Goose Island.

Full review linked above, full New Beer Sunday #1040 treatment linked here. WBAYDN summary, this one has a great depth of flavors (chocolate fudge base, rum and bourbon barrel treatment, figs and dark fruit, maple syrup), and like Dapper Rye yesterday are better than most of the BCBS variants released this decade. Don't sleep on these selections, and thanks again Dan for this awesome selection as I work my way through the end of Blues Before Sunrise.

Have a good Sunday. Been playing games with my old college roommate again in a discord party. Got my support class over level 10 in killing floor 2 and played some Golf it! As well. Got under par on grassland, but the rest were ridiculous courses.

Boat has been needy again. Trying to get in the pantry and making a lot of racket on the door :kissing_heart:.
I picked him up and he was licking my arm.

Ellies is one of my favorite American brown ale of all time. A classic example. Need to get more cans.

Dang. That's a huge beer in every way. The 14% ABV isn't even legal in my state for "beer". I think we top out 13%.

Love your cat Boat @superspak , and your tune and beer selection @tolar111 .

It's drinking LARRRGE. Just finished the last drops.

Crazy in 2025 states like Georgia, Utah, and others have restrictions on ABV and retail location options, and you can't buy beers like higher ABV versions of Bourbon County Brand Stout. That said, I prefer the 12 oz serving size over 16/16.9, or 8-9 oz on draft (3-5 oz tasters too small beyond a festival). I'm ready for a nap after 12 oz (been up the past few hours).

Hope breweries continue shifting to the smaller package sizes for these over 10% beers.

This was the second full length album I ever bought, after Revolver.

Going to start up Fallout 3 again probably. I had a lot of fun yesterday morning and got only to the beginning of the wasteland.

Rusty Rail Fog Monster from @Ozzylizard . Great hazy. Fantastic head retention and dense soapy lacing on the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, apricot, pineapple, melon, citrus peel, wheat, bread, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. A bit muted. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, apricot, pineapple, melon, passionfruit, berry, citrus peel, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread, wood, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Medium pine, citrus rind, herbal, woody bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and body. Balanced creamy/grainy malt and sticky/resinous hop mouthfeel. Lingering resin dryness with no astringency. Nice softness in the mouthfeel. For the age of the can, it held up well: very mild oxidation, melanoidin character; and the hops were still nicely juicy and vibrant. Of the listed hops: Azacca, El Dorado, Citra, Mosaic, Amarillo. Azacca and El Dorado dominate on tropical/stone fruit notes. 4.03/5

It's really dumb when you look at it. I can buy liquor & wine but not that Goose Island Stout, just because it's "beer". Smh.

[IMG] Happy Sunday all. I am hoping to snag some fresh beer this morning. Not a single hazy in the fridge. Yikes! Cheers all.

Fat Head's Simply Simcoe. I haven't had a single hopped simcoe beer in a minute, but I love em. Canned 11/12/24. Amazing IPA. Lasting dense head retention and soapy lacing on the glass. A pristine appearance. Huge nose of red grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, mango, blueberry, passion fruit, wood, citrus rind, pine resin, bread, herbal, floral, grass. Super vibrant nose. Taste of huge red grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, mango, blueberry, passion fruit, wood, peppercorn, citrus rind, pine resin, bread, herbal, floral, grass. Large sized pine, citrus rind, herbal, woody bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and body, balanced bready/grainy malt and sticky/resinous hop mouthfeel. Fairly crisp on resins, with lingering hop oil drying. Mild lingering hop astringency. but super smooth. Minimal warming 7.5%. One of the best single hop IPAs I've had. I am a sucker for Mosaic in the base beer, but this is the perfect showcase of Simcoe. Everything is near perfect on a west coast style IPA. Super vibrant balance of juicy and dank hops, with it being a bit stronger on dankness! 4.51/5

By far the best song off the album. Best solos and low end 8 string riffs.

Nebelungs are the best cat breed of all time for me, but they are very vocal and picky about cleanliness. Otherwise all just cute fluffy couch potatoes. The long coat doesn't help with cleanliness. I'd adopt 2 more right now if I could afford it.

We also have Frankie who is half Burmese and Bombay. Basically also a dog-like cat because he follows my wife around everywhere. Chuck is more independent, cow cat Domestic Shorthair, he makes his own rules. Still sleeps in our bed every night, he owns the comforter I put on the end of the bed. Too hot for me.

Thanks for opening up the bar this morning, @ChicagoJ, happy you enjoyed the Kaleidoscope Cuvée. Rolling some smoke on this chilly, beautiful winter morning. In the glass is The Wolf, from 3 Sheeps, aged in 18 year Elijah Craig Barrels. Have a great Championship Sunday, BAs! Though not a popular opinion in my house of Swifties, I am so rooting for @TCgenny and his Buffalo Bills today!
