Dirtbag Cold Brew Mocha Porter

 

Port City hit 14 years old, and we decided to stop by and scrounge for scraps from the anniversary party yesterday. My current taster pours are both anniversary brews, old ales that seem to be have a base of last year’s celebratory batch, though one of which was aged in apple brandy barrels.


The regular is on the bitter side, with medium toasted bread barley notes and a woodsy bitterness. The apple brandy version brings some fruit notes, unsurprisingly, but not specifically apple. It is like a mix of apple, red grape, and maybe a hint of plum, but the base beer is enveloping and distorting attempts to pinpoint a specific flavor.

The base is more composed but the “acidic” addition in the brandy finished version is slightly more approachable.

 

Cigar City Jai Alai on draft at the 50’s Prime Time Cafe at Disney Hollywood Studios. This is a great first beer of the vacation!

 

Fish and chips with a Jai Alai at Horse and Hounds.

 

Have a good Sunday. Been up since 6am with the cats. I had leftover cook out and then had a food coma a 6 pm last night. Cheddar style char grilled chicken with bacon, and big double out west style with bbq and bacon


We came to brixx and I am starting with a cigar city jai alai. Super dank and juicy. Lots of Columbus hop bitterness. Love it
