New day, new week and morning errands done under the pouring rain. Congrats to the Eagles for what I read this am.

    Bonjour!
I’ve picked myself up something similar:
Collective Arts Deceptive Creature. Deceptive perhaps in that they’ve managed to make a 6.8% IPA taste like a low-alc beer.

Seems to be a newish release. It’s really not that bad. It ticks all the boxes… it’s just kind of watery. Someone out there will like this

    Back to Cellaruary activity.

Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout Proprietor's Stout (2019)

Full Cellaruary take linked here. Bottom line, this is my last Prop at home because they have become too sweet ( and the format size too large). and I likely have become more sensitive to sweetness, but I am enjoying this and it held on well now 3 1/2 years beyond Goose Island's recommended 2 year cellar treatment.

As heard on Blues Before Sunrise two nights ago.

Looks like the virtual bar is running a little light. Super Bowl Monday, perhaps? :stuck_out_tongue:

As a manager, I love the work emails this morning. “I need the day off.” Come on. Work from home if you can (like some of us, but I’m only working from home since my daughter had a ten AM start. Honest.).

As much as I want to talk about my company’s Super Bowl commercial actually not sucking for once, I’m more excited that Jr may ask a girl out for the first time ever today. It was an exciting car ride to school this morning. I may be as nervous as him. Hope he doesn’t get this….

Pipeworks Flight of the Flightless New Zealand Pils (Nelson, Riwaka, Waimea). White grape skin, some NZ funk, grapefruit rind, lychee, floral, and earthiness from the hops layered over a grainy and crackery dry malt base. Crisp and clean. Quite enjoyable.

Two in a row on here, which I don't believe I've ever done before. Must be the Super Bowl hangover today!
Hop Butcher/Riverlands Parallel Rivers DIPA (Eclipse, Citra, Mosaic, Nelson). Great collab between two breweries that really know how to make a hazy IPA. Most know Hop Butcher, but Riverlands is secretly making some great hoppy beer as well in the Chicago suburbs. This one leans drier and more bitter than the typical HB hazy (Riverlands influence for sure) and brings big orange zest, mandarin orange, passionfruit, yellow grapefruit, black pepper, ripe mango, mango skin, earthiness, resinous pine, and floral notes. Awesome stuff.

Work is done for the day, having an Austin Street Smoked Brown Ale.

I went over to get my inspection sticker today and I had fixed their computer for them last year when I went over. So when I walked in, I asked how their computer was and the owner said - it's good, and then proceeded to tell me to go on the floor and find J and tell him it was free of charge. So then the owner came out on the floor and told him no charge for me ever :astonished:

Pretty damn cool - saved me the $40 or whatever it costs these days for an inspection
