It's killin me!!

 

And without further ado, my first SN Celebration. Wow, is that freakin' tasty. Thanks BA community for turning me onto this fantastic brew.

 

Drinking and writing a review for Great Divide's Hercules.

Is it bad that I'm kinda underwhelmed by it? Was I wrong to expect more from this beer? It's not like it isn't fresh.

 

The head is actually getting larger as this sits! Plus the cork damn near shit my eye out!!

Found one at least 6 months old (oops) and decided to put it up against a newer one.

 

Started with a DFH Burton Baton. Sipping on an Oskar Blues Deviant Dales IPA now. I see more Burton Baton in my near future.

Guess it depends on what you were expecting. I had it at the GD taproom but it was after spending two hours at Oscar Blues and an hour at the Falling Rock taphouse. When you go Dales, Deviant Dales, GUBNA, Ten FIDY, 90 Minute, Pliny, Blind Big, etc, etc, Hercules doesn't stand up but it's still a pretty damn good beer.

Yeah. I can see that. But honestly, for me at least I have to say that I thought it was better than average, but definitely not great. Oh, well. Guess my list of preferred DIPAs is getting narrower and narrower, and that's not such a bad thing—that still leaves about 2,000 left to try!
