Good morning and have a good week Advocate.
I drank this beer with some friends of mine who are fans of As Roma, near the historic Roma Club Testaccio, the day after the victory against Athletic Bilbao, for which there was more talk of our choreography (even your ESPN did an article on it) than of the result on the field.

    https://www.facebook.com/ESPNFC/pos...e-is-still-alive-and-well-️/1310431967114243/

Big shivers, 35,000 people each with their own flag, half yellow and half red... Another story.
The next day, while we were looking at the images and photos that had been taken of our sector, we drank two carefree beers:

Zona Mosto (Milano, ITA) - KARMA POINTS - New England India Pale Ale (6%).

33 cl can (€6 at the beershop).
On the label: "Best before: 07/31/2025 - Lot: L04424".
As soon as it is poured, tropical fruits (mango, pineapple, passion fruit) and white pulp fruits (white peach, white melon) and ripe citrus fruits emerge on the nose.
Almost pastel yellow color, completely opaque.
Foam: minimal and disappears by itself almost immediately.
In the mouth, there is a wide bouquet of summer and tropical fruits (pineapple, white peach, melon, summer plums -or prunes-, mango) followed by more citrus notes (pink grapefruit, citron, orange peel) that make the beer finish dry, without a noteworthy bitter note, but which allows this taste of summer fruit salad to remain echoing on the palate for a long time after drinking.
New England IPA of modern style: very fruity at the expense of bitterness, although the yeast does not "break the beer in two", as in other references tasted, even if the bitter part of the hops is still absorbed, remaining only light in the form of citrus peel on the tongue. Modern and quite anonymous, however suitable for the carefree situation in which it was consumed.

Final impression and summation: 4 Good BBA stout – on this one the bourbon is distinct in both the aroma and taste.

    Hello all,
I’ll follow up @Spaten454 ’s Kriek with another sour ale, this one from Switzerland.
Abbaye de Saint Bon-Chien 2020, aged in red wine casks.

I’m a terrible judge of wild fermentation/sour beers. I taste tart, funky, acidic flavours… sour cherry and citrus fruit. The red wine cask offers tart, tannin, red fruit notes. I wonder if a different type of barrel (rum/whiskey/virgin oak) may have offered more of a contrast. I’m picking up a little oak and some funk on the nose, but the “complexity” of these beers just goes so lost on me

It seems to me to be largely exhaustive.
Probably the oak barrel served to enhance the fruitiness of the wine and the aim was to obtain this result also with the spontaneously fermented beer placed in it.
Obviously, it is only a hypothesis.
I appreciate those who, in addition to the photos, add their own tasting notes or their own review.

Good afternoon everyone. I’m drinking my second Alibi Ale Works Contradiction Golden Mocha Stout. Really glad I bought this beer, I was afraid it was gonna be too sweet but it’s masterfully balanced.
Cheers everyone, and have a great Monday.
