Rain delay keeping me at home until I have a good idea as to when the homestand finale will start today. Clearing my last Hopslam, it's held up well exactly one month beyond Bell's declared March 2, 2025 best by date, which I believe is six months after canning.

Bell's Hopslam

 

Back at it ba. Narragansett lager. Not to shabby for $1 tall boys,

 

1) Modist Pretty Metal (4.5%): A Euro Dark Lager from Minnesota with flavors of dark cocoa, roast, black malt and earth. Roasted.
versus
2) Bent Paddle False Hibernation (5.2%): A Czech Dark Lager from Minnesota with flavors of black malt, bread, coffee roast, cocoa, and dark fruit. Dry, clean and smooth. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Minnesota dark lager battle. First is Modist Pretty Metal. Oak-aged. Dark, earthy and somewhat grainy. Soem nice earthy notes.
Next is Bent Paddle False Hibernation. Dark, with smooth cocoa flavors. Extremely rounded. This is surprisingly one of the best Czech dark lagers I've had this year. Incredibly smooth and soft. Great stuff from Bent Paddle in Duluth.
Winner: Bent Paddle False Hibernation

 

Another "All Day" variant from a mixed 12 pack. Lots of flavor for 4.8%ABV.

The two Lag Haz Max brews last nite/this morn were gorgeous. No noise pollution when I got home so I embraced it and stood out there until I got cold. Inner peace reveals itself in many forms. Late night 4 wheelin' in my drum machine making the 1st tracks is always fun! Colorful dreams guaranteed.

Hump Day once again. One wants One's pints.

just noticed this beer was brewed in Collab with NYS Hop Guild. A lovely beer.

 

I was hoping someone would post the solution here to show their massive brain power. I'm terrible at them but always get sucked in. What's the thing on the top? A paddle? A noose? A handleless amphora? Very likely something completely different?

Your fly's open

 

It’s an oar with the letter “y” in front to make it “your” so the answer to the puzzle is “your fly’s open”. I bought a sixer of Mickey’s last month so I’ve been getting just a little better myself with deciphering the puzzles!

 

1) Phase Three Snow Pants (7.9% canned 1/15/25): A NEIPA from Chicago with Meridian, Moteure, Mosaic for flavors of sweet and tropical berries and dank pine. Some lime green melon, and mint.
versus
2) Phase Three Unused PTO (8.0% canned 12/16/24): A NEIPA from Chicago with Mosaic, Vic Secret, and Strata for flavors of grapefruit and lime citrus, zesty white grape, peach, and floral notes.

Phase Three NEIPA Battle. First is Phase Three Snow Pants. The hop flavors lean more west-coast with tangerine and dank pine. Nice apricot and tangerine plus some minty pine notes. My last of the bunch here. Perfect for some early April snow.
Next is Unused PTO. Some Vic Secret and Strata show here for some of that passionfruit, pineapple, and strawberry flavor. Bright and clean. They tend to make this at the end of every year and it's an excellent showcase of those hops.
Not easy to call a winner. I like the flavors of Unused PTO here slightly better, but Snow Pants is unique and a unique showcase of the Meridian hop.

Thank you both! I am firmly in the dumb shit category with these. I had gotten as far as "why paddle flies door?" Not particularly enlightening.
