    Good Sunday all!

Drinking Gallia, originally a French craft unfiltered blonde ale that was as a brewery bought over by Heineken:

    Happy Sunday BA!

The In-Laws are coming over for Sunday dinner today, so that calls for a beer to prepare!

Good day BAs! Thanks @Shanex for opening the bar!

Today's New Breakfast Beer is one I've been saving for NBW (hence the cross-post), thanks to a VERY generous @bbtkd:

Bourbon County Brand Stout Reserve (2023) - Eagle Rare 2-Year from Goose Island. Received from @bbtkd 27/03/25 in a LIF associated with BS BIF #2. 16.9 fl oz bottle. Reviewed 13/04/25 (Review 3502). Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.

Final impression and summation: 4.25 Pleasant aroma, cries out “Drink Me!” I did – it was excellent! Thanks Tom - a most excellent brew!

[IMG] This has a hop called anchovy in it and it has kind ruined the beer for me. Not bad either, odd?

Anchovy is probably the dumbest name they could have chosen, especially since it has absolutely nothing to do with the attributes of this hop. I've never had it myself, but they say it tastes like watermelon Jolly Ranchers - not something I look for in a beer. Just curious - what was the attribute that kind of ruined the beer for you?

    Anchovy Hop Profile
Anchovy is a new experimental variety from Segal Ranch in the lower Yakima Valley. Initially, it went by the name 24B-05 but was given the controversial name Anchovy by Matt Storm and Brian Strumke from Fast Fashion Brewing in Seattle. Fast Fashion was the first brewery to sponsor acreage, so they have been the only folks to get a chance to brew with it so far, but now there is a very limited amount of 2024 crop year available.

Fast Fashion Brewing describes the variety as "watermelon hard candy, raspberry, and pine."

    G'day all!

After a couple of days of +70°F, we're back to the 50s. Not a reason to complain I reckon.

This beer is a nice way to start the day. Purchased from Good Times Oakland, it's a slow sipper to savor.

    Prost!

Talking with the owner of Provisions in Amherst, as I purchased this yesterday.
He said that there is a "pause on all Du Ciel exports to the US."
    If so sad news
