1) Toppling Goliath Scorpius Morchella (8.4% canned 4/14/25): A NEIPA from Iowa with Pacific NW and Southern Hemisphere hop blend for flavors of mixed berry medley, tropical grape and green melon, and notes of mango.
versus
2) BlackStack KPIs (8.3% no canning date): A NEIPA from Minnesota with HBC 602 Nectaron for flavors of lemon, bright pineapple, grapefruit, white grape, and mango. (Correctly matched the two blind)

Toppling Goliath vs. BlackStack DIPA Battle. Both have a blend of Pacific NW and Southern Hemisphere hops.
First is Toppling Goliath Scorpius Morchella. Fresh out of the gate and two weeks Fresh Toppling Goliath is not easy to find! I am fortunate to live not far from the brewery where the magic happens. Classic Toppling Goliath citrus flower plus some sweet grape and mango notes to make it lean more tropical. Fresh, bright, yet incredibly clean. This is outstanding.
Next is BlackStack KPIs. Triple Dry-hopped. Amazing tropical grape and mango flavors. One of the best IPAs I can remember from BlackStack.
Winner: BlackStack KPIs

A 10 month old IPA..not too bad.

Thanks, For some reason hotel rooms do tend get things rolling.
I can pretty much fit everything I need in a grocery bag, but the shoe and outfit coordination blows my mind. Then there is the whole hair care thing, 2 hair dryers and I don’t know how many hair irons of different configurations, TSA must just shake their head. Whenever we fly we always get one of those notes in the suitcase that they inspected it.

 

Man, that was an annual pickup in my PHX days, so good. Was this distributed to New York recently?

Surly just came into town, and I picked up some Furious. Review over at the NBW thread, and this is a great old school bitter IPA that is getting harder to find.

I think Sly & The Family Stone's There's a Riot Going On is a perfect fit for this beer...

 

I prefer the grape version brewed by Kettlehead, but this Strawberry version from the creator Branch & Blade is nice also.

 

Happy Sunday...

Gorgeous morning out today, so ran out to Garden of the Gods as it was "motorless Sunday morning" and everyone and their Grandma and dog were out there. Good 16 miler with 1700 feet of climbing, but felt that right ankle just a wee tad.

Now? Time for a Banger. Yes, this one. Momotaro is settling in nicely, and I spent last night in his room to socialize him a bit. He's a big-boned sweetheart.
