Interesting musings. I was telling a younger friend last night about the first time I saw Springsteen. It was Oct/Nov 1969 at the old gym at The University of Richmond. The headliner was Percy Sledge, with Steel Mill as the first act. We had no idea who Steel Mill was. They came out in a cloud of smoke, playing hard core rock and performing lovely melodic ballads. Sound familiar? It was fantastic! Percy Sledge came out and said, : "that's a hard act to follow.". Percy Sledge was awesome....

Good morning BAs! Up since dawn packing food and beer into the RV. Scorching hot now at 9:30. Taking a quick coffee break - Cafe Deth:



Canned 10/4/24. Poured at 60° (it did not take long sitting on counter to go from fridge temp to warm…). Strong coffee and bourbon 7 months down the line. Always a great choice for breakfast, especially at 14.8%!

Today is day 1 of our summer travels. Hope to hit the road by lunch, and check out a new brewery in GA this afternoon. Cheers and have a great day y’all!

 

Good day BAs! Thanks @Schmittymack for opening the bar! @Beersnake - enjoy Belgium - they brew some beers that are almost as good (IMHO) as Germany brews.

Looks like an overcast day today - if the weather holds, I'll mow some more of the lawn and maybe help prep the new fence at my son's next home - gotta keep the wolf pack contained!

Today's New Breakfast Beer:



Big Bad Baptist Chocolate Banana from Epic. Purchased from Franklin Beer, Franklin, PA, 26/04/25. 16 fl oz can, $12.00 (Including tax), $ 0.75/fl oz. Reviewed 08/05/25 (Review 3526). Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Final impression and summation: 3.75 (After deducting 0.25 point for an undated container) Uncredited label artist. Less harsh whiskey overtones than most other variants of BBB – not noticeable in the aroma and barely evident in the taste. Weak amyl/isoamyl acetate aromas are present, kind of like someone in the brewhouse was eating a banana, but don’t last to the end.

Oh hey there. After repairing one of my garage doors w less than $10 of parts it's time for a beer. Cutting steel w a grinder (I do enjoy flying sparks), impact tools, ladders, goddamned garage doors. But now it won't self-destruct.
