Wayfinder-style IPA - Cheers!!

 

That Helles didn't last long at all. Still have some Maibock left. Man, I wish more American breweries would do this style in springtime. Apparently, I'm in the minority on that. Amazing how dry this beer is. A liter would go down super easy. Anywho, prost BAs!



Something a little different from me I was in the mood for.

 

1) Lupulin Dortmunder (5.5%): A European Export beer from Minnesota with flavors of earthy and grassy Noble hops, salty bread yeast, with a smooth bread dough flavor.
versus
2) Falling Knife Freudenfreude (5.5%): A Dortmunder lager from Minnesota with flavors of bright lemon, pale malts, bread. Sweet. (Correctly matched the two blind)

Dortmunder Lager battle from Minnesota. First is Lupulin. Smooth honey, bright lemon, some yeast with a sweet and smooth finish. Very nice.
Next is Falling Knife. Bright lemon, citrusy and bread, also slightly sweet. A bit more dry-hopped here, but otherwise very similar. Really like the dry-hopped flavors here, but admittedly probably drinks less-true to style. Lupulin Dortmunder is spot on and respectable.
Winner: Lupulin Dortmunder

Nice! I missed an opportunity to try some Lupulin beers at a beer fest recently. Sounds nice.

I've heard some great things about Von Trapp. Especially from @JackHorzempa. I'm hoping well eventually get a drop down south sometime.
