Good day BAs! Thanks @LesDewitt4beer for opening the bar. @MadMadMike - I had Desperados in Zurich a decade or so ago - tied for the worst beer I'd ever tried to drink - ended up a drain pour. I hope it has improved, since it's still around.

Well, Mrs Lizard and I are taking our son and (hopefully) future daughter in law to "Da Burg" for a celebratory lupper today - his birthday and her receiving her MS in mathematics.

Today's New Breakfast Beer:


Foggy Geezer from War Pigs. 16 fl oz can. Reviewed 10/06/25 (Review 3536).
Final impression and summation: 4 Uncredited label artist. Easy drinking NEIPA at a good price point.

Transferred my remaining beers from the basement cellar to the refrigerator yesterday. Hope the rest held up better than this one.

Full Cellar Review thread take linked here. Bottom line, this has oxidized despite presumedly proper cellar conditions. Just bitter and cardboard vs. wonderful enjoyment at 16 months from the same vintage.

I’ll agree with the Desperados assessment - I gave it a 2.4/5 seven months ago. There was 1 in the fridge that got dressed with some Frank’s Hot Sauce & a twist.., went aight with scrambled eggs I guess.,.

(Yesterday), but my new Czech Pils brewed. This is iteration #2 and has just tapped, so it will continue to clear a bit over the coming weeks.

Floor Malted Pilsner, Czech Saaz and a Czech Lager Yeast Strain. 4.7% and 40 IBU.

Tasting great! Will only get better as the yeast drops out after the initial pours.

 

The wife and I went to Market Basket today. I feel like I got a great deal. $11.99 for a 7.8% 4 pack canned on 5/27/25. I shall be going back for more, I bet this is $4 or $5 cheaper than the brewery.
