Really appreciate your discourse on assorted topics. Never knew what diacetyl was, specifically.

First day of NYC weekend . Best option at the hotel in Manhattan. Well, Stella might have been better.

So I’m flying out of Grand Rapids again and had time to try a couple new to me beers.
The first is Hazy Little Thing-

When a west coast brewery tries to make an east coast beer, the result is apparently this.
Very crushable but not terribly hazy nor citrusy.
    I enjoyed it anyway,
    Cheers!

Swing Juice from Big Lake Brewery.
The bartender told me it was a hazy.
Does that look hazy to any of you?
It has Amarillo and Citra hops; I think someone saw the Citra and all else went out the window.
It is actually pretty good. Just not what I was told it was.
Okay, probably should get to my gate.
    Next stop, Denver.
    I’m flying to Kansas. Yeesh.

Yes, that was an eye opener about the PU brewers using diacetyl to determine when their beer was finished. Jack, your experience with Bohemian Pilsner in the Czech Republic was the same as Todd described to me. PU was the only one that had detectible levels of diacetyl. Everything else he had didn't. I recently finished a six pack of PU bottles, so I feel like I had a pretty good starting place for comparison. His really was just like PU without the diacetyl. For me, I don't seem to be as sensitive to it as some. I enjoy a PU but will readily admit I like Bohemian Pilsner without it.

    Na Zdravi!

Getting ready to strap it in for the first of two games today. Running out of my standby, apparently a twelve pack wasn’t overly optimistic.

Cheers brother. I go into a trance with that one. Lots of emotions seep out of the music long after. Incredibly free musical moments captured at such a precise time. Captivating.

Wandering Monsters Pounding Husks Rye BA English Barleywine. Had this one a few hours ago but didn’t get around to posting it until now. Loads of caramel, toffee, some rye spice, tobacco, vanillin, bourbon, and oak tannin. Was outstanding.

Man, what a day - I didn't do a thing at work today. There was an issue with Verizon where you couldn't connect to any VPN services - the issue was finally resolved at 2:15 but I was done at 2:30. It wasn't really Verizon, it was some sort of an internet outage. Consequently I couldn't connect to any of the school resources. It only affected Verizon users - the internet was working fine, except for VPN or any connections that required authentication. From what I could tell by doing a trace route, the traffic was hitting a Crown Castle Fiber server in NY and not going past that point. I emailed Crown Castle Fiber and sent them the trace route information and less than an hour later the problem was fixed so I don't know if my email is what got them to look at the issue or not.

    Long story to be honest.

Having a delicious Hadley Grass now and relaxing.
