I am starting with a badger state grassy place. Aromas and flavors of big red grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, passionfruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, berries, citrus peel, pepper, pine, wheat, bread, herbal, floral, grass. Lt-med pine herbal spicy bitter finish. Medium carb and medium plus body. Balanced creamy grainy malt and sticky hop mouthfeel. Light resins and lingering drying. No hop astringency. Very smooth soft and juicy. Tastes like mosaic, El dorado, citra. Awesome hazy. 4.1/5

Wonderful memories of my adventure on the south shore of Lake Superior two weeks ago promted me to enjoy a South Shore Brewery Cream Ale.

 

Good Saturday BA's! It's a warm one here, "Feels Like108°" according to the weather channel, and on our way to 112-114 later this afternoon. Sip of Sunshine while the wife finishes up an egg dish for lunch.

Well the wife found this one in the fridge door, best by 01-25-2025, we poured it and are pounding it......

 

First experience with Notch, and I'm very impressed. They have produced a rather excellent Kölsch.

Brothership Terp Trail DDH West Coast IPA (all Oregon hops: Mosaic, Mosaic cryo, Chinook, Simcoe). Pine resin, passionfruit, earthiness, grapefruit peel, slight lime. Not their best west coaster, but still has that earthy and resiny goodness. Ever so slight diacetyl, but nothing too off-putting. Decent.

 

We're in Connecticut for the Pizza & Beer festival tomorrow.
We just left Louie's Lunch for an original burger, and found a brewpub across the street, oddly enough named BAR.
The brewery is called BRÜR.
I got their BAR Lager and a sample of the porter. The porter is outstanding, the lager, not bad.

Got some apps. The cheese curds and ranch were top tier with ranch. Great blue moon beer cheese pretzels.

Southern shore northern lights cream ale. Aromas and flavors of big lemon, rice, corn, cracker, white bread dough, wood, pepper, pine, herbal, floral, grass, yeast earthiness. Lt-med pine, woody, herbal bitter finish. Medium-plus carb and light med body. Crisp clean refreshing finish. Balanced bready grainy malt and sticky hop mouthfeel. Light resins and lingering drying. No hop astringency. Spot on style example. Not overly yeasty. 4.1/5
