Prairie Street Brewing Co has an English Pub Ale on cask with a real beer engine. Exciting!

I went with the Wavey Blonde for the wings. It won gold at the Best of Craft Beer Awards, whatever that is, and it doesn't say when. I love the spanners for pulls. This location has been brewing beer since the 1800's, only as Prairie since the 2000's, but an historic building in downtown Rockford with a great patio on the river.[IMG]
I gave no direction/ preference for the wings, as far as how much sauce or how to fry them, I rarely do. I want the first ones to be the way they make them. I am happy with the results. Not soaked with sauce, and cooked through, well short of dry. I hate wet, undercooked wings that require me to bathe between bites.
On top of that, or more appropriately, before that, not only do they brine them, they confit them before frying. Solid!

The beer is a perfect match.

    RIP Chuck Mangione.

#Back Pain Sucks @Shanex @ChicagoJ @tasterschoice62 - i don't suffer from Sciatica but from a tilted pelvis which i believe was acquired via impaired "Hackeysack"(footbag) games during the early to mid-80's. Played a lot of hoops as a working adult into my mid-30's until i could barely walk the next few days. Things better the last 25 years with a regular lifting/stretching routine but still have flareups of the hip going out of whack and resulting debilitating lower back pain. FINALLY, after years of Da Boss chewing on my ear, about a year ago i incorporated regular Core Strength exercise into my gym workout routine (about 10 minutes roughly 5x/week). Amazingly i have only needed one chiropractic tune-up (due to a large yard project) since then whereas before i was going to the chiro up to 20x a year for 20 years or so. Life has been so much better the last year!

A toast to the Hulkster and to @muchloveforhops3 for providing this Mexican Hot Chocolate gem. Doug, the adjuncts have amazingly held up really well over 3.5 years - this must have been one hot beast initially!

    Cheers!

Thanks @CarolinaCardinals, can’t die without pain or scars as they say, I could do without this like my fellow advocates suffering from it too. Fortunately it happens once in a while, maybe twice a year usually after long, repeated walks. It does suck terribly.

RIP Hulk, and thanks for the childhood memories, btw.

“Old” by craft beer standards, this glass is almost 30 years old. This brewery eventually moved to Cape Canaveral Florida, changed its name to Florida brewing company, and then was subsequently bought by Carib brewing out of Trinidad.

    Thursday after work Cheers!!

Ha! Indian River struck a chord in my pea brain and yes upon further review i had a couple of shipments via the "MicroBeerClub" in 2006 & 2008. Memorable as the Indian River beers were very mediocre.
BTW i meant to compliment the picture of your wife at Banff last week. Gorgeous backdrop for a photo op. Never got close to Lake Louise as we did not want to go thru the shuttle shuffle. Thanks for sharing!

Onto round 2 with a Black Butte Porter from Deschutes. This is the 5th brew out of a six pack and i have been getting a subtle smoked malt vibe with all cans. I remember the first time having on tap 20+ years ago and how the chocolate malts stood out. Amazing how the palate shifts!
    Cheers!

Happy Thursday BAs! Trying something new today, a Scratch 'N Sniff from the Flying Monkeys. A "strawberries & cream IPA", which is not as bad as it sounded at first. Cheers!

    1) Fair State Side Pull (4.1%): A Czech Pale lager from Minnesota with flavors of pale bread malty, yeast, light salty notes. Light and clean.
    versus
    2) Little Thistle Tonks Tuesday (4.8%): A German Pilsner from Minnesota with flavors of lemonflower, pale Munich malts. Bitter, floral and clean. (Correctly matched the two blind)

Fair State vs. Little Thistle Lager Battle. Continuing from yesterday. First is Fair State Side Pull, a Czech Pale lager. Bright lemon, some salty notes. Outstanding Czech Pale Lager.
Next is Little Thistle, a German Pilsner. A bit more hoppy lemon notes as expected and larger and sweeter.
Fair State has an outstanding Czech Pale lager this summer.
    Winner: Fair State Side Pull

Just finished fertilizing and watering the pepper plants which are coming along quite nicely. I can't wait to try the jalapenos when they mature - they're a heirloom pepper from Oaxaca Mexico and should have a pretty nice degree of heat as opposed to what I can buy at the supermarket. The Thai chilies have a ton of flowers and I should be able to reap a good crop from those. They're not the ones you usually see at the markets, these are more like a birds eye chili, they usually grow to about 3/4" or 1" and are plump and hot!! I like to wait until they turn red since I think the red ones have a slight bit more sweetness and flavor to them.

So now I'm having this Counter Weight/Von Trapp collab Clear Intent which I'm really not that fond of. It's okay but I would not purchase a second time. But since I paid good money for it and it's not a drain pour, I need to consume them and get them out of my life :sunglasses:
