    1) Phase Three Baguette Bonanza (7.8% canned 6/11/2025): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra, Mosaic, Galaxy & Elani for flavors of mango cream, melon sorbet, blueberry
    versus
    2) BlackStack Dad Jokes (8.6% no canning date): A NEIPA from Minneosta with Citra, Mosaic, Cashmere & Vic Secret for flavors of sweet orange, pineapple, passionfruit. (Correctly matched the two blind)

    Phase Three vs. BlackStack IPA Battle. First is Phase Three. Nice hop combo with the addition of Elani. Smooth tropical berry notes plus lime.
    Next is BlackStack. Imperial IPA. Strong flavors here, but the higher ABV adds a bit more sweetness. Drinks a little hot and sweet, but really like the flavors here. They are spot on. For the flavor, not the ABV...

    This is a strange bird. A generally pleasant beer bringing subliminal balance and nuance to the palate. The malt flavor somewhat reminds me for some reason of zweibach crackers. Overall, I find the beer enjoyable. It is bready with a fine sense of muted sweetness yet also has a somewhat powerful boozy quality. I think this beer would be a fine candidate for some short-term aging to round off the rough edges.

    My final stop on the cities road trip was at Luce Line brewing, and I enjoyed their Zwickel. Ironically as I was enjoying the beer @cheeseheadinMinneapolis walks by.
