@CarolinaCardinals this is my last of the Cellarest Beer Project Circulus IV Vienna Lager. Very sad to see it go. Only reason I got to acquire some was snagging it from the left overs from Good Word Brewing's Little Beer Fest. A Vienna style Lager rested in Oak barrels. Vienna malt and Hallertau Mittelfrüh hops. This one is in the lead for my Beer of the Year. More breweries need to discover the value of resting lager beers in wood barrels.

 

1) Phase Three Trio Of Stars (7.8% canned 8/11/2025): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra, Mosaic, Galaxy for flavors of fresh squeezed orange citrus, juicy pineapple, tropical melon and berries.
versus
2) Phase Three Rule Of Thirds (7.7% canned 7/18/25): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra, Mosaic & Nelson for flavors of white grape, snappy passionfruit, zesty citrus and tropical berries. (Correctly matched the two blind)

Phase Three NEIPA Battle. Both with Citra and Mosaic, so ultimately a Galaxy vs. Nelson hop battle. First is Trio Of Stars. Citra, Mosaic, and Galaxy. Bright orange, tropical berries, and also some zesty pineapple from the Galaxy. May be the best showcase of Galaxy that I've had. Excellent. An aspirational name and a top tier IPA from Phase Three.
Next is Rule of Thirds, same Citra and Mosaic, now plus Nelson. Similar aromas and flavors, but more of that juicy grape and tropical berry flavor. Amazing as well and a top three IPA from Phase Three.
Winner: Phase Three Rule Of Thirds
