1) Drekker Music & Pageantry (7.7%): A West-Coast IPA from North Dakota with Citra, Cascade, and Nelson for flavors of floral tangerine, stonefruit, and pine.
versus
2) Luce Line New ZealandJoy Ride (7.5%): A West-Coast IPA from MInnesota with Cascade, Nectaron, and Nelson for flavors of vinous white grape, white grapefruit, lemon citrus and floral pine. Juicy and bright, yet bitter. (Correctly matched the two blind)

Happy Friday and West-Coast IPA Battle BeerAdvocates. Both with New Zealand Nelson, an interesting twist. First is Drekker. A new release Music and Pageantry. Some tangerine, stonefruit, floral notes. Not much Nelson flavor that I can appreciate and not very bitter either. Somewhat unimpressed here. I thought their Hop Diss Track was much better for a WCIPA, and would be an interesting beer battle.
Next Luce Line and winning bronze in the Minnesota Brewer's Cup. Citrus, bright grapefruit and vinous notes, also a bitter pine. Exactly flavors you'd expect from the hops and bitterness from a WCIPA. Easy win here.
Winner: Luce Line New Zealand Joy Ride

 

Tired Hands Oblivex DIPA and Cypress and Grove hazy IPA share at Big Hammock Brewing.

 

It is! I’m not sure how they managed to get Deschutes to do this, but I’m not complaining! Cheers!
