The first of ten preordained selections in large part to get my refrigerator ready for the November Deep Woods release. This selection is my favorite annual release, though I really like all of their four annual reoccurring selections. This is my last 2024 Ryeway to Heaven in my refrigerator.

Think I’ll watch Fox tonight to see if Seattle can beat a tough to beat at home Toronto team to reach their first ever World Series, the last among the 30 active MLB teams to have never reached.

Teams which have never reached the World Series (1903-1993 & 1995-2025):
    • 47 Seasons Seattle Mariners (1977-1993 & 1995-2024) - The waiting is the hardest part.
    • 35 Seasons Montreal Expos (1969-1993 & 1995-2004) - Became the Washington Nationals.
    • 13 Seasons Kansas City Athletics (1955-1967) - Became the Oakland Athletics
    • 11 Seasons Washington Senators II (1961-1971) - Became the Texas Rangers.
    • 1 Season West Sacramento Athletics (2025) - Shame, Shame, Shame.
    • 1 Season Seattle Pilots (1969) - Became the Milwaukee Brewers.

[IMG] Poured into a 16 oz Snulip glass not sure when it was canned but within the last 2 weeks. Pours a very attractive hazy yellow with a finger plus sticky white head that leaves thin webs of lace with excellent retention. 4.75

Aroma is tangerine, passionfruit, pineapple, mango, peach, and apricot. 4.5

Taste follows tangerine, passionfruit, pineapple, mango, peach, and apricot extremely well balanced. 4.5

Mouthfeel is above average, soft gentle carbonation, not sticky or dry, and at 8% it drinks extremely easy but still massive flavor. 4.75

Overall this is a rather exceptional NEDIPA hopped with Citra and Motueka Hop Kief. Excellent stuff, thanks John VonKadich for the can. 4.5

Have a great Monday everyone. Cheers

Good day BAs! Thanks @Shanex for opening the bar!

    Today's New Breakfast Beer:

Croak at the Moon from Hoppin’ Frog. Four-pack of 16 fl oz cans picked up at the brewery, 16/10/25 - $23.38 (Including tax and tip)/$ 0.365/fl oz. Reviewed 20/10/25, review 3615.
Final impression and summation: 3.5 Uncredited but quite nice “adapted” art work. Not much flavor and less aroma. Adapted Black Sabbath/Ozzy lyrics as “description.” Fruit Fly ignored.
Rating 3.36, rDev 0% (First Review)

Shanex, it looks like an exceptional brew. I adore The Animals--one of my very favourites, among many, from the British Invasion--as well as Eric Burdon's work with War (although I heard he was quite the jerk with the stellar soul/funk band). In July 1998, he headlined at nearby Windsor's BluesFest, and my friends and I got to go backstage and meet him. He was supposedly sober...but had a 40oz. of vodka and passed it around, sharing it with us. It marked the first time he had performed Sky Pilot live in 30 years...and when the Scottish Society of Windsor Pipe Band joined him onstage while he sang it, it drove him to tears...

    Cheers! =)

Today, it's cool but beautiful, out here in McGregor, and, unfortunately, my lady Pamela's cats, Gracie and Sundae, were hissing at, and taking swings at, each other all morning. Sundae retracted to her favourite spot (one of Pamela's closets) to sulk, so only Gracie was left to show her approval (or not) for my three new beers of the day...After I had to step in and stop their fights TWICE (I honestly felt like a referee at a heavyweight boxing match lol), I relaxed with my fourth brew from Ottawa, Ontario's Beyond the Pale Brewing Company--their 6% Pink Fuzz Grapefruit Zested Wheat Ale. It's shown, poured (and poorly, at that) with articles on the cult classic films Come and See (Elem Klimov, 1985); In the Company of Men (Neil LaBute, 1997); Kids (Larry Clark, 1995); and The Killing of Sister George (Robert Aldrich, 1968), for no discernible reason. I purchased and have seen the Aldrich DVD, and it was remarkably compelling, way ahead of its time. But I digress!...

Next, it was my third of St. Louis, Missouri's Anheuser-Busch's handiworks--their 4% Bud Light Lemon Lime Lager...

Finally, my third beer from Kitchener, Ontario's Stockyards Brewing--their 4.5% Between Jobs Session IPA...

All three of today's brews are also shown bookending articles on the cult classics Girl on a Motorcycle (Jack Cardiff, 1968); Glen or Glenda (Edward D. Wood, Jr., 1953); House of Games (David Mamet, 1987); and Hush...Hush, Sweet Charlotte (Robert Aldrich, 1964), for no particular reason. I have the Ed Wood and Aldrich films, and greatly enjoy the Aldrich. I've tried watching Glen or Glenda, but can't get past the ridiculous opening monologue by Bela Lugosi, for what it's worth...

Tomorrow: Three more new beers for me to consider, from the following breweries:
    --Beau's All Natural Brewing Company (Vankleek Hill, Ontario; my seventh of their handiworks);
--Bench Brewing Company (Beamsville, Ontario; my sixth); and
--Third Moon Brewing Company (Milton, Ontario; my ninth)...

Have a great rest of your day, and cheers...from The Responsible Beer Drinking Club! Membership has its privileges! And Go Toronto Blue Jays and Detroit Lions! =)

I should add that the previous photo of Eric Burdon headlining the Windsor BluesFest in 1998 was taken by George Brooks, as was this one. It was a marvelous night.

Can't believe it was over 27 years ago. Cheers, from McGregor! =)
