Old Nation M-43 and Grand Armory Wheezin Juice come to mind. Funny story. I had a farmer customer years ago who always wanted to drink a few Busch Lights while discussing business. So I always made him my last call of the day. I wanted to impress him, so I brought along a four pack of Old Nation M-43. Ironically, he lived very close to M-43 highway! So I sit down at his kitchen table and pop a couple of M-43 cans, one for him, one for me. He takes a pull and goes WTF is this??:beers:

Celebration accompanied by some classic melodic death metal:

This year's feels more like an old-school IPA, lots of caramel malt but also tons of bitterness. The essential rose-water flavor of Celebration is front and center and it's exceptionally fresh, with tons of herbal brightness, but it's a lot more malty and bitter than last year. Even more of a sipper this time around, IMO.

The Amalgamator is as solid as always, and had offerings by them in the Summer which were also solid. I’m going to chalk up the Cryo hops I’ve never had a good experience with, but will be searching for hop varieties on the can or online more carefully. Kudos to breweries which list this on their packaging.

ISM are Ian McCall’s initials. Ian learned brewing under founding Beachwood brewer Julian Shrago, after which he left to become head brewer at the excellent IPA brewery RIIP in Huntington Beach.

IIRC two years ago, Ian left RIIP to open his own brewery, ISM brewing in Long Beach, in Beachwood’s original Downtown Long Beach Space (which I miss similarly to Eric 1006026[/URL]]@eppCOS missing OG Half Acre’s space).

Since then Julian announced a decision to move to Sacramento for family reasons, and began brewing at Urban Roots, rumored simultaneously to also keeping his ownership share in Beachwood.

Ian left Beachwood before we (Chicagoans) even received a drop, so that was never a concern, but forgot about the Julian angle until @Nugganooch mentioned it. It’s possible there has been a dropoff, but this is the first and isolated incident I’ve encountered since this all happened, including a few new beers I really enjoyed in Vegas, so I’m hoping it remains that way.

    Cheers!
