Well I'm giving up for today. More beer now.

I've got 3 space heaters, and electric fireplace, and a couple old electric baseboards going.

One large and two small baseboards were left in place after conversion to forced hot air.

I can keep the house above 55 degrees for the night without the furnace I think after closing off any rooms not adjacent to water pipes. Annoying tho!

New beer from new brewery

 

I don't care for flavor added to my BA barleywine as a general rule.

But the guy who sent me this set insisted this was worth it.

He was correct. It reminds me of a defunct local brewery's rum BA quad with banana, Gas Station Bananas.

 

Cheeseburger and a Big Nose at Bonefish.

 

Plenty of these left; hops(that were a bit much for some initially, not me) have rounded off and the malt flavors including biscuit/ nuttiness has emerged. Really nice. Cheers!!

Square Hammer ~ Ghost

 

1) Toppling Goliath Citra Hop Drop (8.1% canned 10/29/2025): A NEIPA from Iowa with Citra, Simcoe, and Krush for flavors of orange, citrus flower, berries, stonefruit, and tropical grape.
versus
2) Spyglass Hypercube (8.0% canned 10/17/2025): NEIPA from New Hampshire with Citra, Simcoe, and Galaxy for flavors of orange, pineapple, strawberry and peach. Creamy and smooth. (Correctly matched the two blind)

Toppling Goliath versus Spyglass IPA Battle. Both with Citra and Simcoe plus some additions. First is Toppling Goliath. Bright citrus and some stonefruit from the Krush. Next is Spyglass. Probably one of my first from them. Tons of creamy orange, pineapple, and peach. Tons of flavor while being creamy and smooth. I think it's @SawDog505 that always posts Spyglass, correct me if I'm wrong. This is amazing.
Winner: Spyglass Hypercube

 

Well I’m doing some yard work, so figured I could use a second Shock Top. This one has an underlying sweetness to it that I hadn’t noticed on the first one.

This is going down easy, seems like more of a summer beer. @tekstr1der stay warm, hope you get your furnace fixed soon.

 

While the beer is a just nice and light offering for this weekday, I at least have something special to sip for the holidays coming up!

Hmm can I make a beer cocktail with this? I can try!

 

Fair State Black Pils (4.9%): A German Dark Lager from Minnesota with flavors of dark grains, bittersweet cocoa and earthy notes. Bitter and roasted.

The Gold-Standard Fair State Pils but in Black form. A Black Pilsner. Drinks sort of like a Schwarzbier. This is great.

 

Happy Monday BA. Starting off with a Space Dust. Tasting excellent so far. Looking for some bitterness in my lineup tonight. Cheers
