Great selection to wrap up you celebrate the Epiphany @dcotom ! Orthodox Christmas is tomorrow. I'm celebrating Christmas Eve with this awesome cellar selection. The only disappointment is there was a two bottles per person limit, and this is my last of the series.

New Glarus R & D Sour Blackberry Ale

Full cellar review notes linked here. Bottom line, this did not decline in any way beyond less of an oak flavor, but still an awesome beer. Perhaps I should have saved to celebrate a certain team defeating a certain other team Saturday night, but I don't want to jinx it.

I'll piggyback on @FRANKHAZE 's music theme with two Art Bell music selections, the first from the same film.

"From the High Desert, in the great American Southwest I bid you all good evening, or good morning as the case may be across all these many many prolific time zones. From the Hawaiian Aleutian Island chains in the West eastward, across flyover country to the U. S. Virgin Islands to South America and north to The Pole, this is Coast to Coast AM, the largest overnight talk program in America."

Good day BAs! Today's Old Breakfast Beer:

Slightly sweet coffee with a hint of chocolate, sans coconut. Alcohol (12%) is well-hidden. Last can will be saved as a potential BIF selection.

Happy Insurrection Remembrance Day to those who celebrate (and whatever you wanna call it if you don't). Woke up stupid early. Did work. Now hoping this will help me catch some sleep before I can continue.

Epiphany. Been celebrated around the world for two millennia. Perhaps you’ve heard of it?

Today, it's very mild though cloudy, out here in McGregor--a fine day considering it's January, to be sure--and both cats Gracie and Sundae were more than happy to help me investigate today's three new beers: First, with Gracie, it's my twenty-third brew from Barrie, Ontario's Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery--their 6% Gusher Tropical Punch IPA...

    Poured...

More beer thoughts from today in a moment! Cheers, from McGregor! =)

Next, with Sundae, it's my eighteenth beer from Etobicoke, Ontario's Great Lakes Brewery--their 5% Premium Lager...

    Poured...

Finally, also with Sundae, it's my eleventh beer from Hamilton, Ontario's Grain & Grit Beer Co.--a collaboration with Dear Grain Sourdough Everything; their 4.5% Breaking Bread Pale Ale...

Tomorrow: Three more new beers worthy of my intense consideration, from the following breweries:
    --Halo Brewery (Toronto, Ontario; my seventeenth of their handiworks);
--Lake of Bays Brewing Company (Baysville, Ontario; my tenth); and
    --Omnipollo (Sundbyberg, Sweden; my sixth)...

Have a great rest of your day, and cheers...from The Responsible Beer Drinking Club! =)

I don't tend to pay attention to holidays that don't matter to me (which why I did not reference it). Not sure how Epiphany has anything to do with the Jan 6 storming of the Capitol but OK. My reference to those that don't celebrate it is with regards to the fact that they like to call it "A peaceful protest".

You wished a facetious “happy Insurrection Remembrance Day to those celebrate“ and said “whatever you wanna call it if you don't”. Well, I don’t celebrate “Insurrection Remembrance Day” so I choose to call the 6th day of January “Epiphany” which has been celebrated on this date for the past 2000 years.
    :beers:

PS I enjoyed the pictures you posted from your recent trip to Europe. I’ve also greatly enjoyed @dcotom’s annual thread openings.

Hey man, I appreciate the clarification. I'm not here to inflame. Like a lot of BAs, who add things about their day, their hobbies, religious holidays, etc, alongside their beer, I'm here to spice my beer posts with what matters to me the most, political or not (just like some other prominent posters do on the other side of the spectrum). I hope this can be tolerated as long as it stays civil.

Thank you for your kind words about my photos. A beer tastes even better when the backdrop is beautiful.

I understand where you’re coming from, and I appreciate you explaining it.

I’ve been on BA since 2011, and over the years I’ve seen people weave all kinds of personal context into their beer posts — travel, music, faith, culture, family, loss. I’ve done it myself, especially when sharing my Italian heritage, and I learned that once something personal enters the picture, not everyone will connect with it the same way.

For me, BA works best when there’s room for different ways of experiencing and presenting beer, as long as things stay respectful. Nobody has to agree or celebrate everything — sometimes understanding where someone is coming from is enough.

And genuinely, the photos have been great. They make me hopeful that someday I’ll get to share a few of my own from Italy during the Christmas season — beer tied to place and moment is hard to beat.

Tripel Karmeliet in a 500ml can. Nice!

What a different and admittedly better schedule for me. Starting off the day then with a brew and being normal again thanks to a little bundle of joy…

Happy rainy Tuesday BAs - yeah, hard to imagine that day Jan 6, 5 years ago - surreal, and what has transpired since then - f*@k'ed up comes to mind....ah well....such is life i suppose!

This is hitting the spot on my 6th day of dry January, as I think about making some spicy mapo tofu and chinese veggies and rice for lunch...
