Enjoying this one still awake in the overnight hours, enjoying the lengthening sunlight and mild past few weeks with under seven weeks to go until March, but we will be cold (near 0 F) this weekend.

Revolution Apple Brandy Barrel Ryeway (canned 11/5/25)

Live overnight song also seems appropriate!

Good day Jason and Chicago. Revolution has got to be one of the most acclaimed brewery in your city.

The standard, top tier Duvel for me:

    Cheers!

When I hear of Chicago plenty of TV series or movies come to mind including Dr Kimble and Harrison Ford, trying to claim his innocence:

Revolution is one of my favorites in the city, along with Spiteful, Off Color, Dovetail and Pipeworks.

For TV, I'm a bit dated not watching much TV since the 1980s or many movies since the 1990s, but these were my three favorite over the years. Suburban shot / based films and shows excluded from the lists below.

Set in the City of Chicago TV Series

Set in the City of Chicago Movies
What are your favorite French Films or Shows based on your region, or perhaps just in France?

The Blues Brothers is without a doubt a classic.

But it’s time to update a bit your game my friend. ER also was a groundbreaking series on the Chicago hospital back in the day, lost me in its later seasons but was interesting.

As for France and our cinema or series where do I begin?

I believe you guys know some of our actors - Gerard Depardieu, Jean Reno that played in parts in American / Hollywood movies at some point.

I have a wide range of genre I enjoy, a bit too hard to narrow it down to name a handful of movies. We do have a newer generation of actors like Pierre Niney and Francois Civil that already have a nice career for merely 40 yo guys.

    Cheers.

Ha. Hamlet is the one film I recall seeing Gerard Depardieu. I enjoyed La Femme Nikita with Jean Reno. I'm more familiar with older French Films, though Agnes Varda's The Gleaners and I is relatively new, no? And Leos Carax is still alive, yes?

I didn't watch much TV in my 20s / 30s when ER ran. Glengarry Glen Ross is somewhat vague between city and suburb, but regardless is a great film. I'd also replace About Last Night with Hoop Dreams after a bit more thought.

Good day BAs! Thanks @ChicagoJ for opening the bar! Bob Newhart was GREAT in everything he did on TV, including guest shots on Johnny Carson and Big Bang - his deadpan delivery always cracked me up!

    Today's New Breakfast Beer:

Final impression and summation: 4 Uncredited label art. Decent double IPA. I was expecting more tropical fruitiness, particularly mango, but xin loi.

    Yellowhammer Brewing Rebellion Red Lager

Clear red gold color with light color cap.

Clean aroma that's mostly malty with a hint of something darkish and sweet like cherry cola.

Nice low key flowing malt rich flavor that offers a hint of roasted malt without any bitterness or roast malt elements like coffee. Just a smooth darkness linked to the malt richness.

A good hit but not a home run, it's decent and enjoyable but not memorable.

A 2025 Duvel glass. The design is by the artist Loes van Delft. Duvel is rather generous with 'free' glasses (they come with a 4-pack, the 4-pack is not free) in Belgium and the Netherlands.

A very good friend of mine was always humming this (or Die Walküre or an Indiana Jones theme) when we went to exams, in our student days  Good memories.

Another day / week, another NA brew.....I like this one from Italy a lot - crisp and clean and not weird "worty" flavors....quite tasty

my lake here has been mostly frozen over for many weeks - started to thaw a bit last week with some warmer temps - cool "circles" in the ice have popped the past day or so - likely it will be freezing over a lot in coming colder days!

Sunny but cool today. Waiting to see if it warms up enough to play a round of golf later. In the meantime...

Jacks Abby Framinghammer tirmisu variant, last of the sampler.... Wegmans previously had a JA Tiramisu Pastry Porter that may be same thing but there's nothing "Framinghammer" on can... so separate tick.
