    Hoppy Tuesday advocates!

This morning I attended a funerals, that of a good friend of my uncle and aunt. Late seventies and a packed church. A pretty sociable person he was…

Condolences to the entire circle of people mourning the passing of your Aunt & Uncle's friend @Shanex . Been catching up on regional threads and WBAYDN threads and music waiting for the bar to open today. Didn't grow up a huge G & R fan, but have always loved that song.

I like this beer, one of the best local IPAs. Patrick Mannelly seems like a good guy with solid beer tastes. Just was drafted by the wrong team. Wonder where the Bears will rank in Indiana state football fandom if they move to NW Indiana. Perhaps we will get our Cardinals back if they do leave. :sunglasses:

Good day BAs! Thanks @Shanex for opening the bar - my sympathy for your relatives' friend.

    Today's New Breakfast Beer:

Ur-Bock Dunkel from Einbecker Brauhaus. 11.2 fl oz bottle from M & M Beer, Hermitage, PA. Picked up 10/01/26, on room temperature shelf at distributor. $ 3.00 (including tax) ($ 0.268/fl oz). Reviewed 20/01/26, review 3677.
Final impression and summation: 3.75 Uncredited label art. A very easy drinking beer at an appropriate price point. The beautiful color balances the lack of lacing. Indeed, as it says on the label “Röstmaltzig und Feinherb” – schmeckt gut!
    Rating 3.84, rDev +2.9%
As for GNR, while never a fanboy, I do enjoy some of their stuff - in fact I renamed one of by turtles "Axl" because he has a definite appetite for destruction.

Not one of my favorite styles. But, what the hell, it was part of a variety pack.

Samuel Adams Just The Haze IPA, the most common NA IPA I have seen on tap in bars around here. I don't hate it.

Thanks peers! No need for a full obituary about the late life of our friend, though those sentiments always means something here. Cheers!

Guns N’ Roses had their own time, rightly so. Posted November rain though that’s not really my favorite song ever from them.

    Happy cold AF Tuesday BAs

No hike in with the pup this morning - well below zero wind chills, Emma said "no flippin' way, Dad!"

Did a little shopping instead, and I may get out this afternoon - warming up to the 10-15 degree range later! Ha!

I am trying to tell myself I really really do not need this boat - but, damn it looks cool!

Today, it's beautiful out but, alas, very cold, out here in McGregor--and both Gracie and Sundae found time from their cozy naps to check out the day's three new brews: First, with Gracie, it's my twelfth brew from Hamilton's Grain & Grit Beer Co.--a collaboration with BAOS Podcast to commemorate the latter's tenth anniversary...the 8% Seeing Double Double Pale Ale...

    Poured...

More beer thoughts from today in a moment! Cheers, from McGregor! =)

Next, with Sundae, it's my eighteenth beer from Hamilton, Ontario's Collective Arts Brewing--their 4.9% Collective Lager...

    Poured...

Finally, also with Sundae, it's my thirteenth beer from nearby Tecumseh, Ontario's Frank Brewing Co.--their 5.1% Hoperator American Pale Ale...

Tomorrow: Four new beers to contemplate (since it's midweek and the bonus beer's light), from the following breweries:
    --Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery (Barrie, Ontario; my twenty-fourth of their handiworks);
    --Lake of Bays Brewing Company (Baysville, Ontario; my eleventh);
--Left Field Brewery (Toronto, Ontario; my twelfth); and
--Muskoka Brewery (Bracebridge, Ontario; my twelfth)...

Have a great rest of your day, and cheers...from The Responsible Beer Drinking Club! =)

    My condolences to @Shanex.

Thanks, doc. As I hinted last Sunday we had a pediatrician appointment earlier as I do remember about your profession. A very kind, caring doctor who nicely took thirty minutes of her time to make sure our boy was healthy. Cheers.

I finally found a 6'er of this. I should have grabbed more, as it's very quaffable.
A nice Amber lager, not quite as malty as Negra, but much more interesting than Especial.

Pale yellow pour, clear; dense, slow-rising carbonation; thick and densely sudsy head, white and durable with a rounded and sculpted head, creamy. Wonderful nose; floral with delicate tropical fruit tones. Very pleasant taste; wispy malt base carrying a slow swirl of lemongrass with notes of thyme; quiet bitterness; clean. Light to medium-light body; smooth with a crisp finish.

This outstanding India pale ale / pilsner hybrid is a sheer joy to drink. I find it interesting it is released in January where one might more readily be drinking big, dark, barrel-aged ales. This offering is a nice change of pace for those of us who lean towards the darker, heavier beers of the winter season. The beauty of this beer is that it would be right at home during the warm months. One can hope that this offering may become more than a limited release.
