    Surly Bourbon Barrel-Aged Darkness 2025 (12.0%):
A BBA Russian Imperial Stout from Minnesota with flavors of rich chocolate, fudge, bourbon mixed with brown sugar and cherries.

Friday Night Celluary and BBA Tasting. This is Surly BBA Darkness 2025. My first try at this yearly release was last year. I gave it a 3.99. Lots of bourbon and sweetness, I was new at BBA Stouts. Now with more experience, trying the 2025 version. Lots complex chocolate, fudge with brown sugar and cherry flavors. The bourbon is fairly strong and it drinks still a bit hot. I'm sure it will evolve and improve with aging, so I might buy another to age it. This BBA Stout also only has one entry on BeerAdvocate, but since this is a yearly release maybe should have a separate beer listing for each year. Nevertheless, amazing can art and beer.

Flight from Hutton and Smith in Chattanooga. Too many dogs for my liking but a cool spot and interesting tap list. I have a foreign export stout, a hazy DIPA, a classic imperial IPA, and a BA dark sour, in order. The sour was interesting, lots of dark funky flavors and properly aged, with the barrel coming through and working well with the wild flavors. The FES was good, I think a little too dry and not rich enough for me and definitely my least favorite but still good and quite interesting. The IIPA was excellent, good malt presence and bitterness balanced against a potent citrus and juicy grapefruit flavor. Probably my favorite was the NEIPA, which was vibrant, juicy, and incredibly interesting while still being balanced.

All the best to @Beersnake !

Broken Heels. Never been a big New Trail fan. This beer was gifted. Drinkable, I guess. Odd aftertaste on all their beers for me. Cheers!

Brought a few of these back from our trip to Maine and a good time to tip one back now. We came back a little early due to the weather and glad we did as my area is currently getting pretty much straight ice and it is slick as hell. Huge storm forthcoming on Sunday night they keep moving the amount up and sounds like my area of the state could be 18 inches. I’m so done with this winter
    Cheers!

    Happy Friday, BA.

Paulaner Salvator to start the weekend. I don't think I've had this in over 20 years. It's solid but not quite as good as I remember.

    Cheers!

Finally getting to my next beer, I decided to pay all my bills first since it's a short month. I really enjoy these beers in the 12 oz format.
