Humble Forager/Barrel Theory collab Cedar 33mo BBA English Barleywine, 14% ABV. Barrels are Buffalo Trace, Heaven Hill and Willett Rye. Brewed by Brewing Projekt. I rated this 2024 beer 4.55, but I may have underrated it. Drinking pretty damn good, and so is this beer.

We have a bit of a problem here, my fellow beer Advocates.

This is a very mediocre tripel that I have ordered because you rated it nr 1 in its category.
There must be some bias there as it cannot compare with the WestMalle Tripple or the Abt 10 of St Bernardus, the Chimay or if you like flowery notes the Karmeliet. I like a triple every now and then, but this is not what I would buy again.

Was it massively on sale in the US at some point of time?

Pretty sure it’s because of the iconic venue in Bruges it’s named after. Drinking it on site was a truly magical experience, which surely skewed my own review, and probably many others.

A “Road Dust” English Brown Ale from
Brookeville Beer Farm. Very tasty. :yum:
Apparently no longer inactive, and back in production with +0.5 on the ABV, now 5.8%.

There is something to be said for De Garre. Is offers a fancy and kind of smoothly drinkable 11% abv. But there is still THE bench mark, the first one, that set the standard:

I'd rather pay a bit extra and enjoy a -only 9,5% abv-Westmalle tripel to get my daily portion of abv.

-cool with patchy fog here and a foggy DIPA from Noble Savage. Laughing Storm is fully flavored (orange, pineapple, passionfruit) with a sweet finish and a bit of hop burn, but no alcohol heat. -superb

Appreciate your reaction, I was in Bruges as well in sort of my honeymoon days, long time ago, when people still believed in love.
All tasted better there than at home.
Like to go back now and see if it is just perception or the location.
