What beer are you drinking now? #4893

Sometimes you just have to deal with life the way it comes at you. Take today for example, Friday the 13th. This day just also happens to fall on one of the office females’ birthday. So, in walks said female with flowers given to her by family. I wasn’t made aware of the issue until later in the day, but apparently the “office flower vase” is out of reach. That being the case, said female got into the Beermeister32 Bierglas collection and filled one with water and flowers! I now have to suffer the indignity of having the Mighty CHUGMASTER MAGNUM 1000 being used as a FLOWER VASE!!! FRIDAY THE 13th!

So really this comes at all our shared expense. I mean, I WAS going to get into two mighty 16.9 oz, 500 ml Pilsners to cap off the week in style with the Magnum 1000. A heroic beer for me and a matching review for you. Honestly, I don’t feel like cleaning this “vase” of a glass out tonight, so we’re all getting the shaft!

Tonight for your review and approval, one of the few dwindling bottles from the now defunct Anchor Brewing Company, direct service from the expansive and temperature-controlled Beermeister32 Bierhoard. This one shows a 6/20/2023 packaging date. Yes, she's getting a little long in the tooth, bit still an oldie but a goodie. (The beer, not said female.) So sad nearly 3 years old now. When these are gone, they are gone!

 

Last beer of the day is also my first one That I had today. I am glad I bought it.

FW Pivo Pils is hard to find ( for me) and when you do is always old . Not the case This was CO 02/04. A delightful German pils with other influences (Italian) its so good fresh . Chicken tortilla soup on the stove simmering for lunch ,with orzo to add in the back burner .

 

Still a favorite.

 

An absolute onslaught of Galaxy & Citra straight to your mouth. I've reviewed over 90 Veil beers, this just ranked #2.

 

Both of these look great. Really miss having access to fresh FW Union and Pivo. Enjoy!

 

@beergoot Pliny vs Heady is a classic matchup of legendary DIPAs. I prefer Pliny. I like and have much respect for Heady, but it does not wow my palate.

A few days ago I was sitting on the porch in shorts drinking and Alesmith IPA. Today I'm in bundled up the living room trying to stay warm and not use the oil heat.
