[IMG] I’m gonna try this again: starting off the day with a SN “West Ghost “ Modern WCIPA. Slightly more in control than yesterday!

I didn’t make the cutoff before WBAYDN 4901 closed for new replies; tried posting this earlier but we were out of range (about a mile from the Lihue airport but patchy cell service). Enjoyed this Lilikoi Ale while having dinner at Hualani’s, possibly the first Michelin-starred restaurant I’ve ever dined at. Our last night on Kauai before flying back home to Seattle tomorrow. Pretty good beer! Cheers!

Hop Making Sense Pale Ale from Cellarmaker Brewing. One of my favorites for 2026 so far.

Aroma of lime. Tastes of sweet orange that continues into a long aftertaste with quite moderate bitterness. Light bodied and pleasantly sudsy. Overall this is a friendlier kind of hoppy brew. It has robust flavors but a mellow finish. Hopped with Nelson, Mosaic, Strata and Centennial.

Correction: That restaurant we were at does not have a Michelin star—it is part of a resort that has a “One Michelin Key.” I thought it was odd that I could easily get a same-day reservation and frankly the food was good but not what I’d expect from a Michelin-starred establishment. They just had “Michelin 2024” and “Michelin 2025” placards prominently displayed near the entrance—deliberately misleading, I’d say. They also forced me to give my car keys to the valet desk after I’d already parked it myself, which was kind of annoying.

Since we didn't get Bigfoot this year, no danger of ever seeing this ghost...

I am struggling to get the motivation to do a beer review. While I try to, I am enjoying this .

28 pages yesterday. Damn, I missed the party. I almost bought an Orval, but didn’t do that either. I did drink an Angry Chair Adjunct Trail on draft while waiting to pick up the dinner order. I’ll step up up my posting game today.

Good day BAs! Thanks @Braunmeister_1943 for opening the bar again today! @Orca - sounds like they've got a "Dine and Dash" problem, probably after people realize the misleading advertising...

    Today's New Breakfast Beer:

Augustijn Blond from Brouwerij Van Steenberge. From mixed six pack of 11.2 fl oz bottles, purchased 09/03/26 from my local Giant Eagle. $ 39.99 (Including tax)/$ 0.596/fl oz. On room temperature shelf at store, stored at 40 degrees F at home. Reviewed 22/03/26, review 3712.
Final impression and summation: 3.75 (After deducting 0.25 point for an undated bottle) Uncredited label art. Decent, not off-putting, nose and taste. Easy drinking but not something I’d purchase again.

I hadn’t thought of that, but I doubt they were holding our Kia Soul from Thrifty as collateral—they already required a credit card to secure the dinner reservation. Just a way to squeeze a few more bucks out of each guest, I suspect.

    G'day all!

I'm sipping on this West Coast IPA from Great Notion and Breakside. 10th Anniversary beer.
From Good Times Oakland, canned February 4th. Good IPA with grapefruit, some grass.

    Prost!
