1) Weihenstephaner Original Helles (5.1%): A German Helles with flavors of pale malts, bread, Munich malt.
versus
2) Weihenstephaner 1516 (5.6%): A German Kellerbier with flavors of earthy grains, bread, honey. (Correctly matched the two blind)

Weihenstephaner Lager Battle. First is the Original Helles. Pale, bready, and clean.
Next is 1516. The flavors are similar, but the 1516 you can tell has a thicker mouthfeel being unfiltered. I think it improves the drink experience. Interesting side-by-side. This 1516 is really growing on me.
Winner: Weihenstephaner 1516

This is a euro strong all the way through. It reminds me of the import shelvies one takes a chance on here or there.

That said there is OBVIOUSLY some great brewing underneath here. The mouthfeel and texture are excellent. But it’s boozey. It does what I think it set out for. The discerning man’s Havelius Kaper

Gnosis Life is Good (Imperial Stout w/ roasted peanuts and marshmallow). I’m a sucker for the adjuncts so this is one of my favorite non barrel aged stouts by them. Full of creamy peanut butter and sweet marshmallow. Milk chocolate and roasted malt round it all out. Fire.

 

That's a good side-by-side @defunksta. I had the 1516 when it started coming to the U.S. but I never see it anymore. I remember it being quite good and peaked my interest in Kellerbier. That's a style I really enjoy on draft.

No, I'd love to but being a classical player she's not really into jamming per se. She has written her own tunes though. She's not really into the music I'm into. She wrote this one ..
