Ikinuki smoked Amber Lager from Godspeed Brewery.

I have had this conditioning on the porch at a nice 10°C all morning. Should be a good temperature for this beer

Zillicoah Kellerpils 4.9% courtesy of @CarolinaCardinals. This is an impressive Kellerbier. Hoppy in the balance. Herbal/spicy with a slight lemon-lime note in there. Clean moderate bitterness the lingers a bit into the finish but is not harsh or offensive. Has the rustic character you expect from the style. Perfect refresher after finishing some landscaping work this afternoon. Cheers Tom!

    1) Augustiner Lagerbier Hell (5.2%): A German Helles with flavors of earthy pale malts, bread, yeast.
    versus
    2) Augustiner Edelstoff (5.7%): A German Dortmunder with flavors of pale malts, earthy and golden honeysuckle notes. (Mismatched the two blind)

Augustiner German lager battle. First is Augustiner Helles. Earthy and bready.
Next is Edelstoff the Dortmunder. Similar, but slightly more honeysuckle and sweetness. I really dig this style.
    Winner: Augustiner Edelstoff

Long day of work. The other guy who did remote support retired, today was his last day. That means I have to take all the remote support tickets myself and some of them are a real PITA.

Relaxing with a Hadley Grass IPA ..

Well, I am humbled. @CarolinaCardinals got me this Sierra Neveda Friends of the Family Weizenbock 8% and holy cow this one impressive beer. I don't think I got Tom anything even close to this in our mutual exchange. Folks, this is a world class beer that equals or bests its German counterparts. The yeast expression is amazing: pure banana and clove aroma. Then there is an added vanilla note in the flavor. Soft, velvety mouthfeel. Never notice it is 8% abv - it has just a slight warming sensation. Every BA needs to try this beer. A hats off and bow to Tom. Prost brother!!!

Gotta pair this with a world class tune...

Happy Thursday all! Somehow, in the period since last June when I ordered this bottle direct from the Bruery, I not only forgot to add it to my meticulously maintained beer inventory Excel spreadsheet, but I also failed to see it in the recesses of my beer fridge—even as I made a concerted effort to drink down said inventory from oldest to newest. Well, I am correcting my error today. This is (soon to be was) the oldest beer currently in my possession, along with three bottles of 2022 BCBS I picked up at Costco recently at a fantastic bargain. Cheers!

Good afternoon BAdvocates. I’m drinking a Hop Valley Nova Centauri “Easy IPA”. Oddly enough, this beer is tasting noticeably fresher than yesterday’s. Lo and behold, the can is simply stamped “10Mar26”. No “Best By” B.S. preceding the date like the two beers in this bizarre variety pack. Tilray knew what they were doing here.

In other news, I finally racked up enough points to get my first free Panda Express bowl earlier today!

    Pale ale from Treehouse
I would call it a lower ABV hazy IPA, somewhat more trending towards a WCIPA than most they produce

    1) Toppling Goliath Fire, Skulls, & Money (7.8% canned 1/20/26): A NEIPA from Iowa with Citra, Mosaic, Galaxy, and Nelson for flavors of grapefruit and orange citrus flower, vinous white grape, gooseberry with some pine and berry to balance. Juicy, complex, and clean
    versus
    2) Toppling Goliath Supa’ Sue-Mo (7.8% canned 3/13/26): A NEIPA from Iowa with Citra and Mosaic for flavors of orange, juicy pineapple, melon, and mango. (Mismatched the two blind)

Toppling Goliath IPA Battle. FS&M versus Supa Sue-Mo. Repeating this because it was interesting the first time. First FS&M. The perfect hop profile. Sitting at 3+ months. Still the complexity, but not quite as robust.
Next is Supa Sue-Mo. Hitting its peak at about 6 weeks here. Great Citra and Mosaic combo Sort of blends King Sue and Mosaic Mamba. Citrus plus tropical. Obviously I think FS&M is better fresh, but today Supa Sue-Mo is drinking better. I really should put this up against the flagship King Sue. Nevertheless an outstanding IPA.
    Winner: TG Supa Sue-Mo

Seems I have been made my CAMRA branch's chief dog's body of social media,
I mean what do I know about beer social media?

Also I am in a three horse race to 10,000 unique beers with two Nordic contenders, so am going to stop pontificating and drink!

Strange day at work. Dead-animal smell throughout the whole large building, including the other two tenant spaces, all with separate HVAC systems. Happened suddenly overnight. Lots of searching and investigating, garbage removal etc. Nothing found. It sucks.
My home smells fine and so does this beer.
