What beer are you drinking now? #4947

Fair State FSBC10 Imperial Stout, 12.5% ABV. I rated this 4.29 in 2024. While I appreciate the option to have one 7.5oz beer when I feel like it, I never do.

 

I've heard they make some good ones.

Yeah man love that brew but it's absent from RI shelves. I was buying some in CT but UT was all bottles. I've never seen that in cans. Wish I did have access

 

Sierra Nevada Dual Torpedo. Canned 2/12/2026. Great all around CTZ, Idaho 7, Simcoe hop profile; very vibrant and dank with great complexity. Spot on west coast style.

Wow, lookee here, lookee here...! A fantastic California brew that's not being gobbled up by Firestone-Walker!

Lagunitas is a terrific IPA brewer for sure. Their Maximus Colossal IPA is my kind of brew! - with a name befitting a pour into the heroic 21-ounce Beermeister32 Chugmaster 500 I'm sipping on today!

Maximus Colossal IPA is a heavy hitter in the IPA world. With a 9% ABV and a 60 IBU, these big 19.2 ounce stovepipes deliver the punch!

Ponder this ..... When Prohibition ended in 1933, brewers were able to release beer with a 3.2% ABW (now roughly equivalent to 4% ABV), usually in an 12 ounce size or quart size, with 11 ounce stubbies becoming the all the rage by 1936. FOUR 11 ounce stubbies of 4% ABV brew is the rough equvalent of ONE 19.2 ounce mini-keg of Lagunitas Maxiumus Colossal IPA! Aw, the sin they were protecting us from back in prohibition!

I just love the looks too - a traditional "Westie", Maximus is brewed using Simcoe, Cascade and Centennial hops. My sense is the Simcoe is on the back end, maybe in the dry hop as well. Finally, check out the CLARITY!! West Coast IPAs are supposed to be somewhat clear, but Maximus takes the cake! Fantastic! Cheers!

Last call here ba. And my first go at these guys: Attitude, ddh ipa (citra/mosaic), long live.
Clean and crisp and very dialed in. Subtle fruit more about the hops. Pretty nice hop juice.
I had some idiot tell me these guys are better than other half. I nearly swung on him. So far pretty good,

Dates- where this shit is: as w/ normal human consumption of everthing.

 

6th Lord. An IPA brewed by Basic City. Not quite as good as my favorite Master Shredder but really good nonetheless.

 

Next up and outstanding.

 

If you ever can get your hands on Clever Girl (the beer not the lady old man) do yourself a favor and buy it. It is an IPA brewed by Triple Crossing here in Richmond. I think it can compete with Master Shredder.

PS: I plan on scheduling another beer Zoom - probably near the end of the month, like possibly the 29th.
