I'm about to start some grilling, and that calls for some refreshments-

No, the chicken is not radioactive- it's been basted with achiote oil as well as other spices. After it's grilled with a hint of applewood smoke it will be a thing of beauty, I promise you that.

The beer is a leftover growler from my brother's Derby party yesterday. My folks live in the Catskills, and they brought down some beer from the recently opened Callicoon Brewing Co. As of now they make two beers in house- both extremely well made- a very nice CAP and this Porter, called Brown Cow Porter. It's one of the best ones I've had in a while- they absolutely nailed the chocolate malt/caramel malt balance, the mouthfeel is luxurious for a beer of this gravity, and the hops are just right. Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come from these folks.

    Happy Sunday!

Well here we go fellow BA's!

This is pretty tasty, not fantastic or spectacular but just an easy drinking smooth beer. Very odd combination of styles, but it works. Smooth and easy drinking.

If you are trying a new beer today or style stop on over to the New Beer Sunday thread and post it. @mattcrill has been faithfully starting this thread and is now retiring, so stop in and say goodbye and let's hope that someone else picks up the reins! (I'm still looking at you @Greywulfken or @utopiajane  )
    Cheers!

And now what should be the BA anthem:sunglasses::

Three of these were just hanging in the garage on a shelf in a half empty 6 pack. Never was a big fan, hence the reason 3 of them were just collecting dust. Dated 2012.

Decided to throw one in the fridge and I'm pleasantly surprised. A light vanilla flavor. Accidental "cellaring" I guess.

Be sure to stop in to NBS today and see @mattcrill off - thread's not dead by any means, but he has been the frontrunner for 480 (!) weeks...

I was going to wait to open this bottle when the show aired this evening, but after sweating my ass off in the yard the last few hours, I'm glad I didn't. This hit the spot on a 95°F "Spring" day.

Glad I got to try it.

Exactly. If I could readily get Pliny by the growler, I might never leave the house.
