Went to my gmaw's house yesterday and broke her the news that we'll be moving 6500 miles away, because I got the job offer of a lifetime. Wasn't easy, since my gpaw passed away 3 years ago this month, and I've been readily available to do odd jobs around the house for her, have Sunday dinner with her, and she got to spend time with my 3 year old daughter. She was a little sad at first, but quickly said she was very proud of me for getting this opportunity and I'd be a fool not to take it. My grandfather always taught me, no matter what, honesty is the best policy, and he was right. Up to this point in my life, honesty in my interviews has cost me several 6 figure jobs, but I can't do something my heart isn't in. I stayed the course, ground it out, and it got me my dream job. Still not making 6 figures, but I will no longer have to work 2 or 3 year round jobs, just 1.

Actually had this last night, Cavatica Stout, while looking up rental houses. It wasn't too bad, not my favorite offering from Ft. George though. I'd like to try the BA versions, they'd probably tickle my fancy.

Just got home from work. I've worked/been on call for 85 of the last 96 hours. I think I deserve this one.
Not so coincidentally, also my 550th BA review!
Big thanks to @NHbeerguy for sending this gem my way via trade

Good morning BAs. It's another typical day here in western PA - threatening to rain. Today's libations start with:

A pleasing Doppelbock which keeps the money in PA (sort of, I bought this in MI and I WILL be getting my 10 cent deposit back!).

    Followed by this:

    A very nice gose!

Whoa - I'm out of grits and yogurt so these beers are starting to have an effect - things seem the same but oddly different - I'm so dazed and confused!

Had this yesterday, didn't even see where it was a Berliner. Nice peach sweetness but still tart and crisp.

Hotel beer, round 2: Jack's Abbey Smoke and Dagger.

I ran into some Jack's Abbey at a bottle shop in Ithaca. I wasn't sure about the freshness, and didn't see bottle dates, so I didn't want to get any IPLs, but I was pretty sure Smoke and Dagger would be good to go. Beautiful beer in the glass, and more important: tasty!

These dudes absolutely rock. Horns up! \m/

That's a must. It's full - full! - of beer. Just replaced the ice bags again, and the labels are starting to come off some of the beers. You can kind of see my roadmap of beer locations on the cooler top.

    Yo !
So ima start the day off by blasting :

Idk why they would put wax on a double IPA - kinda tough to get thru . Had to use my least favorite knife in fear that it might break while opening it
    [IMG]
Mmmm ! Not bad - crazy citrus flavors here. A malty mess tho.

Victory Moving Parts. I have to admit that I bought this beer because my pal @Shroud0fdoom didn't like it. I really didn't like it a lot more than he did. It had metallic off flavor in it. I talk about it in my review and I will say this . . . if you want to notice the idea of palate indoctrination you can do it with this beer. The metallic is so up front but as you drink it seems to wane except for a sour under taste by the time you are halfway through the first glass. I ended up rating it higher than I thought I would because all it's redeeming features really shine despite the metallic flavor.

So here's a question . . . what's better than taco salad day? Tipsy buffalo wing tuesday be back with pics . . . I gotta make 'em first.

    Cheers BA

TBH, that's why I'm hated at my workplace. I'm not afraid to stand up for my point of views or my opinion. I'm not a "yes man" so I don't get the bigger bucks. Yet congrats to you for finding your dream job. The old saying goes: "Once you make a living doing what you love, you never have to work another day in your life." Does Gmaw know how to skype?
