Finishing up with IPA day.

Awesome, super fresh 7/23. Hurray for Chicago Lagunitas. I always forget how much I love this beer because I usually buy Sumpin more often. Super bright citrus forever. Lovely.


Fresh Centennial, my go-to always in the fridge.


All around delicious! Great balance of juicy citrus/grassy hops, dark malt, and oaky/vanilla notes. Only about 3 months old for this, I might go out and seek some older ones to see how these transform. I can only see this as being great at any age for different reasons. Much like double crooked tree's transformation into an awesome barleywine after 1-2 years. The oak would definitely lend a hand to some awesome complexity with aging.

Happy IPA Day to those interested in IPAs and the days on which we commemorate them!

Pretty Things Meadowlark is doing the honors at my place. I had to run out and get it specially for the Day. Earlier today I looked in the fridge and lo, no IPAs! It happens. But not today. A day I heard of for the first time last year and was reminded of today. Next year in Jerusalem.

It's a stone groove. And then I'll have a nice, calm pils. Happy nighttime, folks!

 

Shame to drink this without the proper glassware, but it's been a long week and i need the abv, cheers

 

I had a good happy ipa day in my book (but full disclosure, nearly every day that I indulge is ipa day, unless I'm feeling like a stout or octoberfest). Started with a couple of worthy brewing company IPAs, followed by 3 lagunitas Maximus (underrated), a Freemont inter urban ipa, and closing it out with a bale breaker field 41 (unless I get crazy and crack a bomber of pelican's imperial).

 

Jackie O's Bourbon Barrel Aged Black Maple. This beer is absolutely fantastic and easily moved into my top 5. It sure isn't cheap, but man is it a fantastic brew.

I agree, Maximus is totally underrated.

well apparently my birthday is the same day as IPA day, what a lovely coincidence

was between green flash imperial IPA for 7$ a bomber or a six pack of fresh squeezed for 16$, fuken gotta love Hawaii sometimes...ended up going with the flash
