It's not bad.. it's definitely more reminiscent of a Black IPA than a stout, IMO..

Agreed. I used to really dislike black IPAs. They confused the shit out of my pallet, but I've kinda warmed up to them. And when I saw diesel, I remembered it was pretty to close to that without being too harsh.

I would be more than happy to try that, I have heard very good things about that beer. I will say though, this bourbon county coffee is the first beer to actually blow me away since Heady Topper, (only beer to ever REALLY blow me away). I am a strong supporter of regular Bourbon County Stout but this blows the regular out of the water and I deem it difficult to ever thoroughly enjoy a BCS or KBS as much as i once did after having this.

I dig the regular a lot better. Maybe I should not have had them back to back but the regular is just so good. The wood realy come out of this one and even smells like saw dust.

I drank a bottle of Release #8 yesterday and it was excellent!! Like you said, it's coffee forward but very enjoyable. The name doesn't lie though...it is big and bad.

I am currently enjoying a Celebration Ale.

What I should be drinking is Geary's Special Hampshire Ale, because the weather sucks.

    Here's to you JohnnyP.

Love the holidays. Couple zombie dust, 12 bigfoot, duvel, black Albert. Currently...bcbs and my aunts homemade bourbon balls and Derby pie. This lil dusting of snow is the cherry on top.

Pretty good beer I think, not as lemon-y or awesome as say.. Stones' 16th Anniversary, but..

Moving on to some other shit I thinks...
