Following Yamar's lead...
Had the following today:
Zombie Dust (always good, duh)
Anchorage's Bitter Monk (disappointing, very heavy handed on the spices and quite yeasty, hops never really showed up to the party)
Dark Horse's Blueberry Stout (absolutely killer this year)
Digging deep in the fridge
Beer advocacy at its best. I was walking some trails today, saw a buddy of mine riding by on his bike, he said I got you something back at the truck. Turns out his brother in Cali sent him some Pliny and he was gracious enough to share. Awesome surprise.
Day full of delicious hops...
Only one way to top this off, right?
Samuel Adams Imperial White
I'll visit the rest of the Super Kitty 4pack in the years to come. Anyway, found the last of this this weekend so am popping one now and hoping for a Andes Candies beer experience...
ST Mokah is unbeatable. Really the whole Black Water Series is.
I need some different friends
My wife & I were just saying that ST Oat is such a great imperial oatmeal stout last night.
I can finish any Blackwater bomber myself like a boss.
The wife opened this while I'm still sippin' on my BBPt5; so I got this on deck...
Troegs Mad Elf
Watching SNF and listening to this:
Started with a homebrewed sour and New Zealand IPA, and some Templeton Rye that we also poured onto some wood chips to soak for a few months.... now I'm drinking a Vanilla Doubledog that a friend got for me, then it's on to my first Nitro Milk Stout, a Third Coast, and if I'm still alive... a Central Waters BB Stout. Life is gooooood.
Met up with some old college buddies this evening. A Torpedo and a Bell's Special Double Cream Stout at the house, then on to the bar for a pair of COAST BA Blackbeerds on tap followed by a COAST More Consistenter Citra Pale.
God bless you COAST.
Watching the game with my Rubens Rye. Rye with peppercorn.
Vertical Epic 08
Right now Ive got a Fatheads Holly Jolly Ale. Might dig into my Hoppin Frog stash that I just got from the brewery Friday.
Anchor Liberty Ale while watching Sunday Night Football.
Going to keep rolling with the Stone as my Cowboys roll out of the playoffs.
Just got back from an amazing 12 days back on the east coast. Didn't have much time to post while I was there so figured I'd post all these now. Got to try a bunch of stuff I've never had before
Gift of the Magi by the fire
And the only one I didn't get to (hopefully my dad enjoys it)
The Winter King
Celebrating my fantasy football Championship game victory with a batch 2 Life & Limb. If you're cellaring some of this do yourself a favor and pop the cork at midnight tomorrow, it's drinking absolutely fantastic right now!
Cracked this for 4th quarter. Let's go Skins!
I am taking a long, overdue, road trip back home to St. Louis to get major doses of family, Imo's Pizza and KSHE-95. Beer hunting and stocking up on Schlaflys' are also on my agenda.
Went out with my brother and his fiancé today, had a yuengling. We moved to a different bar that had some craft, asked the bartender what was on tap, they didn't know... Ok well I see you have a founders breakfast stout in the cooler, I'll have that. I get the bottle and a reply, "breakfast stout, sounds disgusting." I found that pretty enjoyable, I also loved seeing my bro's fiancé's face when I returned from the restroom after she snuck a sip. Yeah... She hated it. All I could say is its the first stout you have ever tasted, and its an imperial.
Next up I had a sly fox route 113 ipa. I loved it, I also loved seeing my bros girls face trying her first ipa. I told her she wouldn't know what to expect, but yeah she hated it.
Returned to my bros house to indulge in some good ol fashioned bud light! How could I resist the fellowship that would ensue from us sharing the same beer. It may have sobered me up in the process!
Odell's IPA>Lagunitas Sucks>tbd
My family is still cryin' over losing "Nana" on Christmas Day. Ain't easy times y'all. Wife and daughter just left, after drankin Coors Light and Sauza tequila. Damn it's hard losing loved ones.
dfh 75 minute ipa.
back to work after NYE is going to suck for my beer intake- no more beer every day. on the other hand, caloric intake will return to acceptable levels.
Sorry to hear that, man. Hope your family pulls through. It's rough dealing with a loss like that. Cheers and best wishes to you and your family....I'm not drinking this very second, so I raise my future glass to ya.
Very sorry to hear that. Never a good time to go through that, but the holidays are the worst. My mom lost her dad on Christmas 40 years ago, even after all this time, its a happy/sad day for her.
Zero Gravity in Burlington!
A Full Sail Wassail from my friend!
One more for the night.
the half dog face in the back left of this photo is epic.
Got one coming out of the fridge in a few minutes myself!
I lost both my granpa and granma this year in a three week time and Christmas was hard this year because it is his birthday so I know the pain and no it is NOT easy ever....
Flying Fish Exit 16, first time having this, pretty good and unique for a DIPA.
