Foggy day, but warm and no rain, so it looks like I get to golf today.
Enjoying the last tomato from the garden.
    Happy Hump Day!

$4.29 single poured into a Sam Adams Perfect Pint.

Appearance: I'm thinking "It's a 10% stout, it wouldn't hurt to do an aggressive pour down the center." I got about 10oz into the glass and the foam almost came out, but slowly... one of the slowest forming heads I've ever seen in a beer. Wound up with about three fingers of a creamy brown head and a lot of lacing. The beer is absolutely completely pitch black. (4.5/5)

Smell: Smells like a big ol' Imperial Stout with loads of roasted malt, chocolate, and some coffee. There are also dark fruits, of course, and an underlying note of... cinnamon? There's some booze in the aroma as well. (4/5)

Taste/feel: Huge char/ash flavor on the front with tons of bitterness. Some cocoa on the middle with the dark fruits, and then a finish of some warming alcohol, dark fruit sweetness, and then a sticky, dry, bittersweet aftertaste. Tastes almost a little... flat? I don't know what it is exactly -- I guess it's just missing the complexity I usually expect from Evil Twin. The feel is pretty nice, as it has a feel of a nitro stout with a heavy cream sort of mouthfeel... very smooth on the start, which is good, considering the ending has a fair amount of heat from the alcohol. (4/5, 4.75/5)

A bummer overall considering my expectations. Good beer? Yeah, it's actually a very good beer, but all of the Evil Twin stouts I've had up to this point have been exceptional or better. CEAANYCHR just misses the mark a little bit as it's not as balanced or complex as I'd like it to be. It's a tasty sipper that'll warm you up nicely on a cold evening ... or morning ... but at $4.29/12oz bottle, it's not something I'd look to have again considering Evil Twin's other superior Imperial Stout offerings. (4/5)

    (4.10/5)

    Cheers BA!

When this song gets in my head, it doesn't get out.

There's something incredibly satisfying about drinking a 2012 Parabola
    from a coffee mug.

Last day of vacation, and that means that I have a lot of work to do around the house. :slight_frown::angry: Of course, I always plan my vacations toward the end of the week, so at least I only have two brief work days ahead.

Cracking open a brunch beer: DFH Burton Baton, next to one of the day's projects. Pics to follow if I actually finish them.

This was one of my favorite beer discoveries of 2013. I recently tried one with more than a year of age on it; it was quite good, but more of an old ale. I much prefer it fresh. Still one of the smoothest, coolest DIPAs out there.

    Cheers, BAs!

Going with thematic musical narration this morning:

Kenny's screams at the end are phenomenal (~5:00 mark). The live version allows you to appreciate it so much more.

The same can be said for Gavin's drumming; watching it live allows you to appreciate it even more.

Probably our last 80 degree day of the year and probably my last one of these for the year. I've been busy trimming bushes, mowing grass, pressure washing the boat and a couple vehicles, I deserve this!

I'm not drinking it yet, but I know what I will be drinking tonight. A tall boy of Hop Drop and Roll from NODA. This brew, along with a couple of others was sent be the kick ass beeradvocate @nc41. Out of pure generosity he sent me some brews I can't get up here in Rhode Island. Awesome stuff man, much appreciated. And by the way, top notch packing job! Raise a glass for my man in North Carolina!

An early afternoon thirst quencher, split with the roommate.

De Troch's Chapeau Framboise Lambic. Almost no yeast presence; it's all a syrupy, sweet raspberry profile. Very tasty and refreshing, if a bit underwhelming.

Been busy doing housework all day, and finished up writing a paper; I think it's about time to relax a spell before I get back into things.

    Cheers!

Does the site look different today to anyone else? What is usually on one screen is now about 3 screens long, pictures are huge, I can't even see some of the beers. Is this happening to anybody but me?

Starting out a bit early today with my brother. Gonna be trading one of these so I gotta do a little quality control to make sure they still taste amazing, which this one does:stuck_out_tongue:
