Going with a nostalgic beer this evening. One of the first IPAs I had a few years back. I probably prefer their Rampant IPA, but sometimes this one just hits the (sentimental) spot...
Taking one or two of these for my flu / Ebola-like symptoms.
I'm hoping the molasses will help.
So here's the thing, I couldn't comment on that thread cause I've only had Backwoods Bastard. The OP there clearly wanted an opinion from BA's who have sampled both. All I can say is I'd love to try Wulver, cause I really like the Bastard (understatement).
Even better is the barrel aged version: Insanity.
Foothills Jade IPA, draft. My first beer with Pacific Jade hops, this one also has citra and chinook. Light, tightly carbonated body with a pleasant dryness works perfectly with a fascinating hop flavor wheel of mango, lemon pepper, orange and perhaps...kiwi? Lingering pleasant bitterness suggests black pepper soaked in a Chinook tea.
Who is this Foothills brewery and why the hell haven't I heard of them before? . This is the best IPA I've had all year.
Happy Birthday to a great BA and my Trillium connection @muzzy !!
And one sexy opener too! Go IU!!
Victory Harvest Ale.. great stuff.. cheers!
Call me crazy, had that one last night (and thanks again!) along with a Backwoods and I preferred the Wulver.
P.S. - box will be coming soon. !!!
First time having this beer and man it's one of the best coffee stouts I've had for sure!
Was really hard to find anything wrong with this one:
4.73/5 rDev +7.5%
look: 4.75 | smell: 4.75 | taste: 4.75 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4.75
vibin' out to some old school reggae
Finishing this off.
Send me your address
Very impressed, having a Founders Hop Harvest and it can't touch this one tonight!
new Glarus has the cranberry dressing/sauce and pumpkin pie covered. Now they just need a turkey beer, and I won't need to cook at all for thanksgiving
I pretty much like barrel aged, if I see it I will try it (if you build it). Thanks for the heads up.
Oh, I think your crazy, but not because of that...
Speaking of, I was wondering what happened to all of my Wulvers. I was happy to find 3 good beers that you hadn't consumed. To impress such a BA legend such as yourself was icing on the cake!
I am a gonna have me a some...

In Austin TX for business today. Stumbled upon a small brewery, Hops & Grain. Enjoying everything they've put in front of me. This is El Potero, a tequila barrel Baltic Porter.
Three Floyds Alpha King! Ah, it's going to be a good night!
Prairie Bomb. Had a few since they were released here...this is probably the last one for a while. Tasty but I'm cool with this one being "once in a while."
Coffee stouts are never the same after you try a Peche Mortel.

A little dankess as Fall leaves us..
This calls for a Celebration...

Once upon a midnight dreary...
- If you haven't tried this one yet, I highly recommend it. Can't get it in Florida, unfortunately.
TAH-NIGHT! Busy day, which means a busy beer day. Started with a Guinness at lunch, which never fails to disappoint me. But then, moved on to:
Some Sierra Nevada Celebration, in my buddy's travel mug. I love, love, love the sentiment. ("There is nothing you know that I don't know." That's how you establish dominance over your students.)
Travel mug was necessary; we went to a homebrew store, as he got the urge. Made it back to his place, where he started in on his first homebrew: a Dunkelweizen. Looks and smells gorgeous at this point of the boil. Paired with:
Utah Squatters Outer Darkness RIS. Holy damn, @gatheredwaters! This is a delicious stout, IMO almost up there with Ten-FIDY, FIS, and Speedway Stout. Really, really good.
Kids need some daddy time, so I had to bail on the brew right before the final hop addition, but I'm home, snuggling my daughter, and enjoying my lone bottle of Double Dose this season, courtesy of my man Dan at my LBS.
I love the Octoberfest's
