Fuzzy Baby Ducks, NEBCO. Been drinking a new beer every day for 883. Nothing fuzzy about my opinion of this beer. I clearly liked it.

Good morning BAs! Drinking this today:

"Pecan" must be used as a marketing tool - I've had at least 3 "Pecan" something beers and I have yet to notice any similarity to the bag of pecans I'm currently eating. While this is a decent not-quite-a-stout, the bourbon barrel aging is also not apparent. And so it goes... \m/ \m/

First of the season. I like the barleywine a bit more than the stout. The sweetness seems more appropriate and better integrated.

Felt the same. It was good, but it didn't quite live up to expectations from the description.

I see whats hiding in the background. Never heard of a "fuzzy" themed tasting. And nice job on the 883

I don't catch all of your postings but I rarely see you drink Older Viscosity do you not like it as much and what are the big differences between the two? I've only had Older Viscosity.

    Good Morning and Happy Friday!
Starting with this one...Pipeworks makes some damn fine beer and this is no exception. Might be even a bit too sweet for me, though. BA Murderous..

most noticeable "big" difference between the two is the size & price.:grinning:

no but seriously. i just warmed back up to Old Viscosity recently. what's interesting is i recently saw in the cellar reviews, someone talking about a 2011 or maybe 2010 that they opened recently & thought was somewhat mediocre. the general gist of their summary was Old Viscosity probably doesn't age well. i'm not so sure that's accurate though. i don't have anything recorded to know exactly when but that time frame seems about right for when i had my poor experience with an Old Viscosity. i just finally took a chance on another earlier this year & loved it. bought a couple more since. i'm thinking maybe the cellar reviewer had a bottle similar to what ran me away a few years back. i may branch out to an Older Viscosity at some point.

    Cheers!

I thought Older Viscosity was quite good especially the mouthfeel. What are the differences though I thought Older was aged in Barrels but so is Old so is Older just that aged longer?

I think Older is aged in Bourbon, while Old is 'fresh' oak (no previous spirits use).
