Out of curiosity where in CT are you that has that on nitro? I drink a bomber of BBCDB on basically a weekly basis and haven't had it on tap at all, let alone nitro

I have family in southwestern CT and I'm not above planning a trip with an ulterior motive.

Long version:

Since I have nothing better to do, I’ve spent unrecoverable hours today trying to sort out
what the hell happened yesterday on The Day of the Dark ~ WBAYDN #792.

This is my best shot. Forgive any errors as this is a steady stream of typing.

First, I overslept and missed the beginning. THERE’S NO STOPPING WBAYDN WHEN IT’S READY TO START!

A pour is heard round the world as @belvedere86 is already serving hot lunch with the Duvel!!!! With 59 total “likes” The Duvel will lead this dark parade.

The first several posts are inspiring and devastating in their simplicity.

@Scrapss takes a COMMANDING lead out of the gate on the shear darkness of his beer and the nice overall color palette. Easy on the eyes in the morning. A nice lead off hitter...but the master batters were lining up to take their rightful positions!

After several more worthy posts, @lordofthewiens unexpectedly rolled out dark prose and a spooky pic but not one reference to golf or food. Still he received over 50 likes.

Front runner @Prager62 quietly post a dawns-early-light pic with flames dancing above his goblet of darkness. “Likes” begin to roll in for this favorite!

Enter @mbeerdino21. The dino kids are busy watching cartoons and dad pours a black hole into his goblet in a post that is sans f-bombs. 74 total likes as of 11:28 today! Could he have been one f-bomb away from a clean victory?
We’ll never f@$%ing know.

Several more worthy posts follow including @Ardeer and the demon beer opener Pazuzu. This image appeared to be taken in a crypt. Musical score disturbing. Receiving 36 “likes" despite frightening young drive-by BA’s.

Two posts later and the first dog pic shows up and it’s a game changer as always! The unwavering and incredibly tolerant Border Collie Lucy, owner of the human @MarshMan71, ignores any shred of self respect and proudly embraces CHRISTMAS from head to paw. Incredible. 70 “likes” received by the sheer force of her will.

The action was furious and sometimes violent! @WesMantooth posts the first Dark Apparition of the day. Numerous others ride his coat-tails including himself with aid of @creepinjeeper. While these two are tangling over who’s beer is who’s, the air is sucked out of the thread as a conversation between Rex and Buzz Lightyear is over heard. BA’s embrace the banter and rewards @RPH2327 ultimately with 75 "likes"!

At the time of this writing @mbeerdino21 receives one more like for a total of 75 as well...

At 11:28 AM we have a tie between @mbeerdino21 and @RPH2327.

In the regrettable event of a tie, the prize will go to the earliest post of the tied posts. This gives the advantage to mbeerdino21 with only minutes left in voting...

Then @Roguer throws down a series of coordinated posts. Invokes Satan! 56 likes is all he gets! ...but Roguer’s true destiny lies over on NBS Week 513...

@utopiajane shows up representing the minority gender on BA and she DESTROYS the hopes of many with over 60 “likes” and threatens to take the Stone Opener right up until the end...
...but ultimately she will fail in this quest. Maybe success on NBS would be in her future?

All seemed right, and yet, the air was unsettled. Something WASN’T right! No sign of Wolf Dude ( @Greywulfken ) or DaPoobah ( @jzeilinger ) yet. It was getting late. Should officials check hospitals? Were they together? Maybe check a few Poconos newlywed retreats? Where were they?!

... @Greywulfken saunters onto the thread. Confident. Seductively pouring out his Imperial Biscotti Break Natale Pretty Please With A Cherry On Top and the "likes" start pouring in AT A RECORD BREAKING SPEED!

But it’s not going to be enough...

On the heels of Natale, dark horse favorite @impending rides in late with a typically impressive beautiful single pic and receives well over 40 likes instantly. But the well dries up quickly for @impending as the air is about to suck out of the
thread for a few tense hours...

...Like manna from the heavens. DD day was given new meaning when @Vukusich shared his robust entry from Wisconsin.

Had those DD’s been darker...then surely the Day of the Dark would have exploded! The DD’s in question ( reference specifically WBAYDN #792 post #96 ) were copiously reviewed at every angle by the Day of the Dark Council of Elders and found to be....good. The Trappistes Rochefort 10 was also warmly accepted! The post stands and RACKS up 56 “likes”! Note: the BA master server recorded this post as being the most downloaded image of the day.

After everyone recovered and cleaned up, the action restarted immediately with a steady flow of respectable and wholesome posts...when suddenly a mild earth tremor was felt...

The Zeilinger DCTOHTC receives 45 “likes” within nano seconds, 59 total “likes” at the time of this account. It is believed that the shock and awe of this post may have been too much for some BA’s to comprehend...and thus, they missed it...

@Zaphog ‘s boy Blue follows to bring everyone back to earth.

The rest of the day rolled on. @Vukusich ‘s DD’s made many more appearances and the leaders steadily garnered more “likes” and the rankings stayed relatively the same. Great post continue throughout the day and into the dark night...

Late Night BA’s carried the torch proudly through the evening but could not rack up the ‘likes’ of the East Coast BA’s who were by now clearly swelled & spent, perhaps too tanked to “click” or simply passed out.

Ah, yeah definitely a hike. I do travel regularly through all of southern CT though so, I'll plan a pit stop at some point

I count it as worth it, probably the best coffee porter I've ever had. BBC has yet to disappoint me.

 

DAY OF THE DARK ~ New Beer Sunday Week 513 ~ WRAP UP!

On the stately NBS thread the Streams Were Crossed with WBAYDN #792 on the First Annual Day of the Dark.

No lives were lost and no injuries reported.

I would go into more detail here but my fingers are tired from chronicling the maddness of WBAYDN #792. Check out NBS Week 513 for some great pics and excellent new beer reviews.

Several early contenders for the Duvel Artist Collection Chalice tangled for the lead in “likes” on NBS...but @Roguer would NOT BE DENIED!!!

@utopiajane gracefully presented her New Beer and briefly took the lead...a crowd favorite...
...but @Roguer, already thwarted on WBAYDN #792 by the Toys and a early morning TenFidy slowly rolled past @utopiajane and never really looked back.

Despite going sans-satan, @Roguer WINS the Duvel Chalice with 44 “likes” on NBS Week #513!

Thanks NBS for allowing the streams to cross! Hope we can do it again in a year...or maybe in six months...

After lunch seems like a good time for a chocolate porter.

 

Cold and grey, with a slight mist in the air...

I got some beer.

These, and Stone's Chipotle Smoked Porter, are great synergistic beers - looking forward to alternating what I've got.
Might eat something with some heat to it to add that little tingle to the tongue I'll be missing without the chipotle...

Uinta's Anniversary Barley Wine Ale

Powerfully hoppy, and at 10.4% abv, drinks like a dark amber DIPA...

The density of the ale masks the abv, which is very subtle...

Loving how the playoffs have shaped up. Could care less whether the Ravens, Texans, Chargers, or Chiefs get in.
I'm keen on how the Steelers fare and to see if anyone can upset New England.
In the NFC, there's some seeding to be settled, but only the South is undecided (and irrelevant).
Still riding the Seahawk bandwagon from last year, but also have a lotta respect for the Cards.
