Now that I'm home for about 30 minutes before I go out for my pre-birthday dinner, I figured I'd try something new. Purple Monkey Dishwasher by Evil Genius. An extremely interesting and intriguing way to name a Peanut Butter Chocolate Porter. Good stuff.

Drinking a Swedish macro pilsner. Untappd says it's 33 ibus and I can believe that, it's got a strong bitterness which is unusual for a Swedish "Export" style lager, they tend to be more balanced between the malt and the hops. This is really dry though and with a good strong bitterness which makes it very refreshing. It also has some mild herbal hop notes in the background which is nice (it uses Hallertau Magnum and Mittelfrüh for bittering and Hallertau Mittelfrüh for the late boil addition). The brewery is the only Swedish macro brewery which still uses open fermenters that I know of which adds a nice touch I think. For a regional macro brew this is a solid one.

40 degrees in MN in January definitely starts "Cabin Fever" syndrome. Good thing there is now an official beer of said syndrome. Cheers all!

One of the last of my latest home brew. Hops have faded and its Belgian character has revealed itself.

I'll have to review old posts to see if the color is deepening.
