Life is good today: spring has finally sprung here in Chicago, I'm finally not sick and Dark Lord Day is just around the corner! It's time for that spring cleaning thing--out with the old rotten stuff and in with the new; no more fake stuff only the the real thing will do! What better way to celebrate that than with this juicy delight from Pipeworks. Love those mosaic hops! Cheers BAs!

Doing some fridge cleaning (not much fun but current situation dictates drinking the beer I have before getting more) with a Thrasher session ipa and can of Guinness, which will probably be repeated on Saturday. Getting ready to watch the two late NHL playoff games, never been much of a hockey fan but I have to say that these games have me intrigued now.

Otter Creek continues to make awesome hoppy beers lately. A very solid IPA with plenty of bright, juicy citrus and tropical fruit.

    Reviews for the day:

Good IPL. Awesome appearance with a lasting dense head and lacing down the glass. Aromas and flavors of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Fair amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish. Nice citrus/piney hop forward flavors with noticeable but not overdone malt presence. Very clean lagering with no yeasty flavors present. Very smooth, crisp, and moderately sticky hop finish. Nicely enjoyable.

Nice APWA. Aromas and flavors of lemon, orange, pear, apple, light banana, pepper, wheat, cracker, bread; with herbal/grassy hops and yeasty earthiness. Light herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish with a touch of wheat tartness. Really well balanced fruity yeast flavors with the pale malt and earthy hop notes. Light-medium bodied; with and very smooth and crisp finish with light bready wheat creaminess. Good robustness of flavors with no real watery type vibes going on. Really well done.

The Kim Jong-Un quad lol. No good head retention on this one. Aromas and flavors raisin, plum, fig, date, pear, apple, light banana, caramel, brown sugar, toast, biscuit, light nuttiness, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Mildly spicy finish with no cloying sweetness. Good balance of malt sweetness and fruity yeast notes. Good complexity. Very smooth sipper with no booziness at all for 10%. Overall it's really good, though a bit different than I expected. I do generally enjoy pale quads quite a lot however. Some similarities to La Trappe Quad going on here, but just not on the same level of complexity. Needs more carbonation.

But with a 6 pack, you can now enjoy two bottles: 2oz more for less $ per ounce... and still have 4 more bottles! Unless, like me, you line in an area where they split up the six packs and jacked up the bottle price!!!!! Grrr!

Thanks, brother :sunglasses: (I just hope I didn't come off like a pretentious dick, y'know?) lol

Hey! Ranger and Islander wins to start their respective series, eh? :stuck_out_tongue: All NY can rejoice! :grinning: (Well, maybe not Buffalo :flushed: lol)

What you talkin' about, Willis? Pipeworks or Three Floyds?

First Framinghammer! What a baltic porter! Reminds me of chocolate covered marshmallow candy.
