Q and Brew at a buddies house tonight. Decided to focus on IIPA's, and we lined up some good ones I think. Finally got my hands on some of these...

Made great starters. As good as any I remember. After these we revisited some DirtWolf, which I had first tried yesterday.

As much as I love Enjoy By, I might actually like this one better. So good. Went well with ribs, veggies, and potato salad.

For desert we skipped solids and moved right to Ballast Points Dorado.

My first time trying this one, and I learned something. I fuckin love IIPA's!

All in all, a great eve.

Great canned cherry sour. Felt like I detected some oaky flavor but I believe I was am/was wrong:

    Finishers:

One of my main go-to porters. Chocolate, cocoa, caramel, coffee, and toasted dark bread maltiness; with balanced earthy hop flavors and herbal/roasted bitterness. Classic American porter.

Finishing off the last of these I bought. Always awesome. Big juicy grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango, citrus rind, and piney hops; with moderate light caramel and spicy/bready rye malt balance; and a sticky and fairly resinous mouthfeel and finish. Delicious.

One of the absolute best table saisons I've ever had, and I will definitely be buying another full 6 pack. Big flavors of lemon, pear, apple, white grape, light banana, pepper, clove, wheat, cracker, hay, straw, grass, and yeast earthiness; with a nice crisp and earthy/spicy yeast finish. Very well carbonated. Very robust and flavorful for being under 4%. Love this stuff, Smuttynose rarely lets me down.

Damn I forgot how awesome fresh Devil Dancer tastes. I've just been drinking cellared bottles for a while now. Huge juicy mango, pineapple, grapefruit, tangerine, lemon peel, citrus rind, and pine; with good sized caramel/toffee/toasted malt balance; and a sticky/resinous finish with a fair bit of creamy/slickness in the mouthfeel. Outstanding.

First bottle of another new one from the Devil's Backbone variety pack:

Yep... a lager made with pears. Or "natural pear flavor" -- does that mean pear juice, maybe? At first glance it sounds like a really weird idea to me... though why I'm not sure. I'm okay with fruity flavors in beer, so why not actual fruit? Heck, I've already had beers with actual fruit in them... so why not pears? -- but it still seems weird.

It's actually not as weird as I was expecting. Nice clear gold color with lots of bubbles rising up, just a little bit of foam on top that rapidly fades away (not quite "so fast that no real head even forms in the first place" like a cider, but fast compared to most beers), smells like pears, tastes like pears and sweetish bready malt. Probably the most-noticeable fruit element of any fruit beer I've had so far, though still definitely not so fruity that you can't taste the regular "beer" flavors at all (this is not a Pear-a-Rita, in other words. XD) The malt actually seems to be getting more noticeable as I drink more, though, which is kinda interesting; like it's poking its way through the pears and saying "yep, I know it tastes like fruit, but this is still a beer."

Wasn't sure what to expect with this one, but it turned out pretty good.

I have been a bit nervous about this one, because I am not well versed in sours, outside of various gose I have just not had very many. I became even more nervous when it started foaming before I even got the cap off. (infection maybe?)
Now that I have tasted it I have to say its not terrible but nothing I am dying to have more of I wont drain pour it and will finish it. I am not dying for more of it either. I dont think it is infected, but hell if I would know seeing as I have no idea what to think of sours or what to look for.

Gotta tip my hat to @SanFranJake 's Giants on the no hitter yesterday.. Someone asked me if I would rather be Dellovadova or Heston last night and I chose Heston.. To throw a no no for such a historic franchise would be way more awesome than holding down the leagues MVP to 3 points the first three quarters of an NBA finals game

Giants, Dodgers, and RedBirds have all had their share of great moments this season already
