As a big hockey fan, I'm a sucker for the handshake line and the tradition of the Conn Smythe Trophy and the captain hoisting the Stanley Cup. Congrats Hawks. Maybe one day I'll see my Islanders do it again. Not a bad win by my Metsies tonight either, ending a long winning streak.

 

What a day!!! Had a job interview, had a flash flood warning all day which technically might still be in effect but we got a TON of rain, received beer mail from @KarmicSkrambl8, boxed some beer to go to @JayWhitson and @Vitacca, did some straightening up, did a load of laundry, my student cancelled his lesson, bought some beer, just fit in a mini workout and the Blackhawks won!!!! Time to have dinner! Finally trying Anderson Valley Blood Orange Gose which I have been passing by at the stores for too long. Thanks Mark for helping me give it a go.

I had Bloodline for the first time recently and I liked it a lot! Hope you did too.

 

Been on the road for a while but aloha from the Big Island. Picked up a 6 pack of this pale ale from Mehana Brewery in Hilo this afternoon. Very drinkable with a touch of dankness. Easy drinking.

 

I think you are about 40 some miles from me. Let me know if you head west. Cool bar this way

Wasn't it fun opening that can? I also enjoyed drinking some from it too!

 

Finishers:

Amazing gose. Flavors of huge tart cherry and lemon/lime/green apple fruitiness; with moderate wheat/crackery malt and coriander/sea salt spice. Awesome sweet/acidic/saline balanced finish. So damn drinkable. I was thankfully able to find 2 four packs after my initial singles review of it(they basically disappeared fast off the shelf). I might have to buy a case next year.


Still tasting awesome. Tart and tropical guava notes with grapefruit, mango, and pineapple hop flavors; and moderate pine bitterness with great balance between hop and guava flavors. No real malt presence other than basic moderate bready sweetness to support the bitter and tart flavors. Delicious.


Last years batch from September. Tasting really great right now. Big dark chocolate/cocoa/coffee and roast/smoked malt/pepper notes; with moderate cinnamon/nutmeg spice and light-moderate habenero pepper earthiness. Good malt/spice balance; mild pepper heat lingers after the finish and builds near the end of the glass. This ages nicely regardless of variant, smoothing out the spice notes. Fairly high/crisp on carbonation, but nothing detracting from the flavor profile.


Always outstanding session IPA; with huge juicy grapefruit/tangerine/pineapple/pine hops with light caramel/bready malt presence and a crisp finish with big robust hop flavors. A top Session IPA favorite for sure. Hope they start sending up to MI someday, but my routine Ohio family visits feed the addiction every few months.

Up The Creek Extreme IPA from Thomas Creek Brewery, Greenville, SC. Boozy and sweet caramel malt. One of my favorite DIPAs. Cheers!
