What beer did it for you?
Im sure we all started our beer drinking careers with the BMCs of the world in College. So at what beer or what beer event did you say, there is way better beer out there than what I am drinking!
Mine was at a craft beer event in the city that changed my world. Heavy seas brewing were the featured beer and their 4 beer selection blew me away.
So what beer or beers did it to you?

Sam Smith Pale Ale, Fat Tire and Chimay Blue.

Brought home the Sam Smith and Fat Tire one day and really enjoyed them -- so much more flavorful than to what I was accustomed. Went back a couple days later and grabbed a Chimay Blue -- blew me away.

    Never been the same since.

All my life I drank Bud. Then I discovered Beer Advocate. I bought a 4-pack of DFH 90. After I drank the first bottle, I was converted.

DFH 60 Minute on tap. I had only tried Lindemann's Framboise before that, and while I liked it, I knew it wasn't what I should expect from craft beer in general. 60 Minute was the one that convinced me that beers that weren't completely fruity and sugary could also be delicious.

When I first started drinking I hated beer and kept solely to liquor with whiskeys and rums being my drinks of choice. I absolutely detested beer to the point where I would feel sick if I drank it. Then I found cider and fell in love with strongbow and other dry ciders. Eventually I wound up at a baseball game with some coworkers and my boss who bought me a bud light. It would have been rude to send it back so I drank it and found that it was a flavor that had grown on me since when I first tried beer. After that I started to branch out into other more flavorful macros like blue moon which led me to great divide hades. As I started exploring the world of beer the guy at my liquor store recommended little sumpin sumpin and the rest is history. I became a craft beer lover the second I took a sip of that wonderful, juicy, hoppy beer.

Also, '08 Dark Lord was pretty early on in my beer adventure, and I remember that as the beer that really turned me on to stouts, which is now my favorite style.

My first trip to the Avery tap room converted me. Had no idea beer could be like that.

Tbh, it wasn't a beer that converted me, it was a documentary, Beer Wars. I used to drink Heineken and Yuengling, but after I saw that documentary, I started drinking Flying Dog and Dogfish because they seemed more local. Then I moved onto stone and it snowballed from there.

It wasn't really a beer as much as an entire brewery. I was fascinated by New Belgium's line-up. Fat Tire, 1554, Tripel, Abbey ale, these were all eye openers for me. They totally were the launching pad for me to start exploring craft beer (especially Belgian ales) and I haven't looked back since.

I would say Sam Adams was what turned me onto more craft style beer. I never really got into the whole BMC thing, sure I'd drink it if someone had it, but I always wanted to try something new. I would be the guy that would always go to a party or social gathering with my own sixer of something different. Someone would always ask "Bond, what are you drinking tonight?" I'd always also let anyone willing to try something new take a bottle or 2 from my sixer.

Of course there would be beers that I enjoyed, and would revisit, but mostly I would just study the selection, read the description, and choose something. Never knew about beer advocate until just a couple years ago.

Can't tell you the last SA beer I bought was though. I've been pretty disappointed in them the past 2 years, and never really went out of my way to try any of their new stuff. I might actually get a 10th anniversary of Utopias. Have always wanted to give that a go.
