I also tried Smuttynose Summer Wiezen, and thought it was absolutely delicious and refreshing. Super smooth and drinkable and a nice change of pace. Then I looked at BA and saw that it was 79. I personally thought that was outrageous! Not a "BEST BEER EVER" brew but certainly better than a 70's rating.

Weyerbacher's Sunday Morning Stout. I will take one of them over BCBS, KBS, and CBS any day of the week. While it is highly rated, I think it should be top 30 at least.

Totally agree with both of your comments. Best value is the Smuttynose cans now available. Poppy's Moonship form Schilling is out of this world (pun intended).

Fully agree. I picked up 2 sixers of '78 this year. Actually still have one left in the fridge. I know it's old but I don't want to see it go... I'll probably drink it tonight. Even dated, those still taste pretty great. Similar to Lagunitas Citrusinensis.

I often find myself talking about most of Lagunitas offerings. Example above.

Keesmann Herren Pils. I think it's potentially a top-5 beer in the world and I'm not even that big of a pilsner fan.
It's everything great about helles and pilsner rolled into a single beer.

I use to roll around campus with those porter bombers. Made for a great defensive weapon if you got jumped!

Agree, have never had a bad brew from Foley Brothers. Fair Maiden and Native are great DIPA and IPA and Ginger Wheat has a perfect balance of ginger spice and wheat malt.

Coppertail in Tampa does some great things, but is less than a year old so it doesn't get much pub outside of Central Florida. I love their Unholy Trippel. So good.

Amongst my friends, I find myself advocating for well made Doppelbocks, Rauchbiers and Scotch Ales. I love all these styles, but I feel they are overlooked. I understand why some Rauchbiers seem unapproachable to certain drinkers, but people would be remiss to characterize all Doppelbocks and Scotch Ales as malty, syrupy messes. A well made Wee Heavy with a nice peaty smokiness is a heavenly drinking experience for me.

I could not disgree more. I thought this beer was not average, but pretty bad. Not even in the same sport as the others you listed, let alone ballpark. But to each their own.

Barrel Aged Legion from Community. I was gonna age some but it keeps getting drank or sent out as extras in my trades. I also like to send a regular Legion when I send out the BA version. I love that beer and love that I didn't have to jump through hoops to get a bunch.

Agree with you here. I think most of what Heavy Seas does is amazing. Phantom Ship was excellent earlier this year as was the Scottish Ale from the Desert Island series. Great'ER Pumpkin is one of my favorite pumpkin beers and most recently, Smooth Sail was a pleasant surprise.

Pilsner Urquell, Beck's and other Czech and German Pilsners that seem underrated on this site.

see above post. also I am constantly after the bros to make another Baltic porter aged in bourbon barrels. If you like stout it was a killer.

I'll admit I take Smutty for granted, though I still pick up there porter and IPA semi regularly. Definately NE spoiled

As for Shilling, I just heard about them a couple weeks ago, I camp pretty close to there every weekend and am planning on hitting them up soon. Glad to here that they are good, only looking forward to it even more

    Founders Rubaeus

I enjoy it much more than most of my friends. If I walk into the beer store after work and am just looking for a bomber plus one accompanying beer, or three singles, I will get a Rubaeus to pair with a high ABV choice.
