I was in the UK about 2 years ago and tried this stuff called braggot. Apparently it's sort of a cross between beer and mead. Vile.

Most but not all smoked beers.
Schlenkerla is on the right side of the line, but I get band-aid out of so many others.
    Same with Scotch Ales.

Any beer with pepper that delivers anything more than a little heat on the back end.

Belgian Stouts. Just do not dig them.

Overdone beers. Whether that's flowers or spices or cloying fruit. Knock it off. Compliment, don't overtake.

Bourbon BA beers. You know's nice? A beer that sat in a barrel that once housed bourbon. You know what's not so nice? A beer that that sat in a barrel that seemed to still have 4 fingers of bourbon in it before they moved beer into it. Bourbon, or any spirit at large is not supposed to be the dominant flavor.

    Pastry Stouts, additives, blurgh.

    Some irony?

I was at a cask beer event at a local craft brewery, Brothers Kershner, and one brewery brought a firkin of smoked lager. My buddy Fred, who is not a big beer guy, remarked "This tastes like a band-aid". I told him that maybe he could be a beer judge. I further explained to him that the flavor he was picking up is a phenol. His eyes kind of glazed over and he said: "I will just get a different beer".

    Cheers!

Sours. I don't get it, & they don't get me.

The Stone Cold Steve Austin beers were actually pretty good.

Sours/Wilds that are acidic enough to take the skin off your teeth. They also drill holes in my stomach lining.

I also don't get along with beers with hot peppers. They burn the hell out of my mouth and I break out in a sweat, even on cold days. :slight_frown:

I agree. I recently gave up sours due to the intestinal and reflux impacts. I gave up on pepper beers years ago.

Any pumpkin beer out there. Alright, every pumpkin beer that I've tried.

For some reason Cold IPAs and I are not exactly sympatico, while as I'm getting older wheat beers seem to not appease my palate. We are talking wits, hefes, d-weizens etc. Used to love them in the past.

It's not an 'as I'm getting older' thing with me when it comes to hefes; I've never liked the banana/clove thing in them, but more critical, I think it's the yeast that gives me gas way down below. I'll stop there with that complaint.

Any IPA. The hoppier the less respect I give them and my taste buds feel accosted. I cut my teeth drinking in Germany so malty is my thing.
